Summary

Alyssa’s finally getting the hang of being an elite Dragon Pyromancer. So why did the Archon have to go and foul it up?

After their victory at the Academy, the Ninety-First Quintelaide returns home as heroes. Alyssa’s name is on everyone’s lips: the girl who killed a Silithik Queen. Their discovery of the hive portals—and the tunnels that made them possible—has allowed the Archenon to stop any other sneak attacks before they start.

While Arthur heals one of her wounds from battle, the blond Frost Mage suddenly becomes more interested in getting to know Alyssa. It starts with flirty smiles and lingering touches, but soon they can both feel the desire pulsing through the Dragon bond...

Yet their troubles are only beginning. The Silithik are tearing through Archenon territory in the northwest, and the eastern front is rapidly falling apart. When it comes time to receive their marching orders, the Ninety-First is itching to learn where they will be deployed. Instead, they learn the Archon has other plans for them.

As they struggle to come to terms with their new mission, Alyssa needs to find out what’s tormenting Arthur—because something is clearly eating away at the stoic Frost Mage. Can she learn what it is in time to stop him, or will she and her Quintmates discover the truth too late?

Mage's Mercy is the second book in the Pyromancer's Path, a paranormal reverse harem romance series. It features exciting sword-and-bow action, a unique magic system, and all the slow-burn romance you’ve come to expect from a reverse harem. HEA guaranteed!

Love this series

First of all I love the world build in this series.

The magic and different branches of skills are quite unique, and the whole nation of nasty bugs to fight with are great way to showcase them. FMC is really likeable, not perfect, not grossly powerful. But through sheer courage and determination she is growing to be better. Even when she fails she is not giving up and just try once more.

I like the fact that it's not insta love. It's starts with interest and by living through some hard battles they all grow to be closer.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the structure of this series as each book is solely focused on one guy. There are pros to that approach which is getting to know them more BUT a big thing against it is the other guys are getting bit forgotten. And in a lot of RH books it's an issue. Author here is doing pretty decent job to avoid that happening, but I still dislike it, though not to the point of disliking this series as a whole.
