About this listen
A girl's gotta eat—and so do her three cats. Recently divorced art history grad student Hanna Harvey has just fibbed her way into a job as the assistant to dangerously drool-worthy art gallery owner Mark Abernathy. For Hanna, working in the field she desperately loves provides the perfect opportunity to begin putting her life back together. Soon her cheese budget is in the black and her feline life partners are no longer eyeing her like a six-foot can of Fancy Feast.
But when her boss's lady friends start turning up dead, Hanna finds herself in the crosshairs of a murder investigation. Even worse, hunky homicide detective James Morrison fears hers might be the next body he discovers.
With the "help" of the gallery's quirky cast of resident artists, Hanna will have to hunt down the truth about Abernathy's dark secret—before it hunts her.
Contains mature themes.

Deeply enjoyable!
I'm a child of the Book Devouring Horde and I came to read this book thanks to Ilona Andrews via Jeanine Frost (both of which are excellent authors). I can happily say that I was not disappointed.
Hanna's life could be going much better, what with her divorce, being behind on rent, and a phenomenal amount of debt, but she comes across a lucky opportunity working her dream job. Except the place is full of strange coincidences and unexplained mystery...
There's a cute amount of will they - won't they, and very tasty love interests, both showing potential although I'm definitely inching towards Abernathy at the moment. But I appreciate that Hanna's pretty focused on trying to get her life back on track even with the distractions of the gallery.
All in all, it's cute, fast, quite unusual in its setup and has a couple memorable lines throughout. Highly recommend!

Paranormal Thriller/Romance liberally sprinkled with witty one liners
I deliberated giving this book 4 stars but decided that it just didn’t hold my interest enough. The narrator was good and the story moved along with a fair pace but I just couldn’t seem to care about the characters. I usually have an image in my mind of what most of the main characters look like but apart from the fact the lead female is tall, ginger and always hungry/horny the rest of her image is just a blur. The same with the male lead. I know he’s 6ft 5, dark haired and brooding with an incredible body and always horny. The love rival, less tall with fudge coloured hair, with a crappy car and always horny. No clear picture forms in my mind for any of them. I just didn’t ‘see’ them so my interest in them waned fairly quickly. I imagine this author has a dedicated fan base so I’m not saying I hated the book. It just didn’t grip me like a KF Breene book or an Ilona Andrews book. Those world’s are richly layered with detail and nuisance which helps me to sink into it and see them in my minds eye.
I would recommend you give it a try but I won’t be seeking out any more stories from this author.

Entering werewolf Romances
I enjoyed this i like shifter books but not patriarchal rubish and this was not. The MFC geting out of a bad relationship needs a job and we have our MMC.
Add in art gallery and oddities shop and dishy police officer and you have a not heavy want to see what happens next book to listen to while doing dishes.
I would say there is spice and head phones would be neede but its one chapter toward the back. If your ok with that and its still a free book give it a go, you might like it.
