Summary
Two years ago, Beth turned her back on her three-year-old niece for just a few seconds. She disappeared without a trace.
One day, Beth receives a photograph from an anonymous number; she is sure it's a photograph of her niece. She is determined to find her and bring her home. But someone isn't pleased when Beth returns, and they will do what it takes to get rid of her for good.

An intriguing plot
The narrator raised the game of this book.
Interesting plot with tedious repetition of making hot drinks. At one point I thought there were drugs in the cofee maker.
The dilemma of the heroine was compelling but her flaws and the flaws in the plot were not developed to hold the suspense in a deep way but I enjoyed the narrative.

Unexplained
Disliked.......Daniel
The money he borrowed & his attitude regarding repaying it, it was left without explanation.

Good Read
I enjoyed this book
A few things we're not explained, maybe there as a red herring but they should have been explained at the end.

Good twisty ending
Definitely one that keeps you guessing the whole way through. I didn’t guess right either which I always see as a good sign for a good book

Predicatable but an easy listen
Nothing to really dislike, it felt like there wasn't much of a story. Quite predictable so no major twists, wasn't kept in suspense particularly, characters quite likeable, just a tad dull.

Mixed feelings
I found myself getting annoyed with this story - but still had to get to the end! Not sure if it was the narrator or the unreasonable actions of the central character - it was all a bit creepy. Unlike other DS Butler books I have listened to so far.
