Summary

Don't miss this shocking psychological thriller by best-selling author J.A. Baker

Missing without trace...

When local woman Deborah goes missing, her colleagues Adrian, Yvonne and Merriel are all left in shock. Gossip around the office begins to swirl – what could have happened to Deborah? Is she dead or alive? And who could be responsible for her disappearance?

Everyone is terrified that they could be next…except the one person who has all the answers. The last person people expect.

Because Deborah is being held captive by a monster, a psychopath. But not a stranger… it’s someone she knows all too well…

Perfect for fans of Sue Watson, Valerie Keogh and K.L. Slater.

Mediocre

I’m unsure why I finished it. Hugely underdeveloped plot. Pretty annoying narration as well. Underwhelming.

Anticlimax

Didn’t do a lot for me … seemed to fizzle out with no real twists 🤷🏼‍♀️
Merial’s narrator was dreadful and the speed of her delivery was at odds with the other narrators who were good

Everyone has something going on in their lives but never was a truer word said than about this group of work colleagues!
When one of them goes missing no one would expect the person they work with day after day to be responsible.
As the story unfolds you’re taken on a journey of each of the individuals involved and really anyone of them could be the abductor.
I really enjoyed this story and I still wasn’t sure who it was basically until they were revealed, some nice twists also along the way.

There are four narrators here and I honestly thought that many would be confusing but it worked really well for this storyline, great delivery from them all.

Depressing

No need to outline the storyline; I've read/listened to psychological/thrillers for over fifty years and this is one of the most boring ones!
This bunch of work colleagues all seem to be mentally damaged for various reasons which aren't really made clear. The story goes back and forward with different names and there is so much repetition of their thoughts and feelings it became very boring.
Not for me I'm afraid.
