Fact-packed but accessible
I’ve read several low-carb books having taken up a keto diet initially for weight loss only to realise I feel so much better in general cutting down heavily on carbs - which are basically sugar. Low carb diets train your body to use fat as energy, which evens out the insulin spikes that keep you hungry and storing excess sugar as fat.
This book hits the sweet spot between the scientific and the super-accessible. Although there’s a degree of repetition, there’s plenty to chew on here. Starting with a broad overview of the many benefits of eating fewer carbs, and debunking many health and nutrition myths, the author looks at all aspects of the issues around nutrition, energy, mood etc that are affected by changing your diet. He then covers dozens of variations of low-carb diets including Atkins, keto, paleo and options for vegans, athletes etc
The author has his own diet to promote but just lists it among the others and he us very generous with listing other resources on the topic.

I was looking for a book that is objective, informative but not dictatorial... the author nailed it! I cant recommend this book enough if you are looking to make educated decisions about your diet.
