About this listen
Jon Lamb—philanderer, husband, uncle, and miner—is missing, and nobody knows what happened to him. This is a story of a family in a mining community struggling to come to terms with the disappearance of one their own.
Living with the looming shadow of his ghost and that of the Hatfield Main Pit Heads during the 84/85 strike, the family's youngest denizen narrates events and processes what is happening around him as his entire family struggle in their own way to deal with the disappearance of his uncle.

Terrific Story
Really good, occasionally gritty but realistic portrayal of life in a village through the Bayes of a youngster. Well read, really enjoyed this story.

A great story. Well told.
I've loved listening to this book. A really great, gritty, tale of life in a northern mining village in the 80's. It's a wonderful story from a time and place the world is starting to forget. While it's clearly a work of fiction its also has clear authenticity. Well informed, well researched. Loved it.
