Summary

Heart, determination, and triumph

This is the story of a boy who fell in love with wrestling before he was able to walk. Born with achondroplasia, a condition that causes disproportionate dwarfism, Dylan Postl had endured multiple surgeries by the age of 12. And yet, he held on to the dream that he would one day become a professional wrestler. Ignoring the naysayers and against doctors' recommendations, Postl began training in his teens, and he soon began appearing on local independent shows. Before he turned 20, he was signed by WWE to play the role of Irish grappler Finlay's feisty sidekick, Hornswoggle, and remained a fixture in the company for a full decade.

While most of Postl's adult life has been spent in the wild world of the wrestling industry, his is more than a story of a little person's journey through a world of giants; it's a memoir of elation and anguish, triumph and disappointment, and of how an endlessly positive outlook combined with the unwavering support of family and friends helped a long shot become a success in his industry and a loving, responsible father.

Best short story

Listening to how someone can overcome an issue to become a professional wrestler and make a living doing what he loves is a very touching thing to hear. Dillain narrates his life very well and can see how passionate he is about this book. Try the terry funk audible if you enjoyed this one.

Great insight

Great insight to one of the most unique characters and people in WWE history. Interest to hear the real life personally arch during a time of stagnation in his profession. Great book and would recommend.

wow

wasn't sure what I was getting into at first as id only followed swoggle sporadically over the last few years and never watched WWE (other than the highlights on YouTube every so often) however after watching Dylan on impact wrestling recently and watching him behind the scenes in Ethan Page's V-Logs I decided to give this a go and it was such a great decision! Dylan was a great narrator throughout the entire book (although audio was sometimes a bit different I'm guessing due to breaks when reading?) it was a very interesting story and I found the most interesting parts were Dylan talking about his friends his form of dwarfism and most of all the stories about him and his son. I hated that I had to work and couldn't listen to this in one sitting but I guess 2 sittings is still okay. I never expected to be so satisfied from a book about a wrestler Id hardly seen (other than on TNA) and knew barely anything about. would totally recommend. if you choose to give this a go you won't be disappointed 😁

A nice listen

As someone with an interest in the industry, I enjoyed this book and there are some good stories in it. It was well presented by the author. I gave it 4 stars because it takes a lot to get five in my eyes, but definitely would recommend it to WWE fans of his era.

An inspiring little big man!

As a wrestling fan all my life I seen him from the start right the way to what he’s up to now. Never realised how much he had to overcome and everything he had to go through to reach his dreams and achieve what so many his size do not. Still wasn’t easy for him but I’ve developed a whole new love and respect for this man.

If he ever saw this review all I want to say is you deserve every bit of joy and happiness you get!
