Daisy and Simon’s marriage is great, isn’t it?
After years together, the arrival of longed-for daughter Millie sealed everything in place. A happy little family of three.

In Lies Lies Lies, Sunday Times bestseller Adele Parks explores the darkest corners of a relationship in freefall in a mesmerising tale of marriage and secrets.

Was ok. Read well.
I found the Characters all a bit Middle class for me. Yummy Mummies. I felt adele tried to throw things in token things to show diversity. Read well though.

Spoiled by the ridiculous ending
I like Adele Parks and thought this was going to be another 4 or 5 star review for her from me. However, this time my finger hovered over the 2 star for story, as the ending was totally unbelievable and full of glaring plot holes. It’s tempting to go into spoiler territory here and have a good rant, but I won’t! It’s a shame, as up until the finale it had been another belter of a book. I don’t mind a stretch of the imagination, that’s half the fun of getting stuck into a story like this, this one just took it too far. Excellent narration though.

Good Story
I enjoyed listening and was gripped, especially towards the end. The long detailed descriptions in some of the chapters, and thoughts and considerations of leading characters slowed the book down slightly. I would recommend the book and suggest to stick with it.

Bit of a downer and triggering
Not one i would recommend, but of a downer and can be very triggering for others. Could have been a good story but was pretty flat

Disappointing
Well written but the characters are awful and have no common sense between them. The main character (the wife) is completely self absorbed and to give an example without spoiling the story, she arrives at a party and a stranger doesn't introduce himself immediately she pegs him as a sexist pig. Am I supposed to believe that your husband arriving drunk to your child school performance swearing, abusive and falling over into the crowd, or leaving the daughter in the bath in a drunken stupor as she cut her head open isnt worth packing his bags? She ignores all of his bad behaviour and while I can believe that a lot of people in an abusive relationship don't leave straightaway, this isn't the case. The man is a falling down drunk and she attends a party with him knowing what state he will get in because it is expected of her and they both make the stupidest decisions at every turn. It's all completely unbelievable and disappointing because I like these type of books, with the exception of the daughter every character is unlikeable and I don't think it was intended that way. I'm trying to persevere with the book, the narration is good, the writing is good but the story and events let it down. I wasted a credit.

BRILLIANT BOOK
Loved this book, but so unhappy with the ending.
So much detail in the whole book and then a massive event occurs and gets one paragraph!!!
Did really enjoy it though, you must read it, great book!!!!!

A little far fetched
I definitely enjoyed this book, but I have my reservations. The main character is a weak female character who makes bad choices which gets a little frustrating.
What is clever about this book is how well the couple is portrayed. It’s pretty realistic in terms of how you misinterpret one another and get on each other’s nerves. In this way I thought it was really strong.
But the actual storyline...mmmm.....
