Summary
Learn Conversational Polish, Vol. 1 is an audio course for beginners or for anyone who struggles with becoming fluent in Polish. The focus of this course is to practice speaking conversational Polish from the very first lesson. Each lesson contains useful everyday phrases related to a specific topic.
Based on techniques and strategies that make language learners succeed:
- Learn in short bursts every day. Each lesson takes about 10 minutes to complete.
- Learn in context. Isolated words or random sentences won’t get you far. By learning phrases related to a specific topic or situation you will see much better results.
- Focus on high-frequency words. Starting with the most frequently used words will boost your comprehension and communication in your target language.
- Review the material. Repeating the phrases at certain specified intervals is a powerful technique to help your memory absorb and recall what you have learned.
- Listen to native speakers. All the phrases are translated and spoken by native speakers.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Good BUT Has One Major Flaw
Overall the content here is quite good and covers a decent amount of phrases, tenses and vocabulary - all of which can be quite useful. There is an accompanying PDF document which gives you all the dialogue in printed form.
I feel this course is let down by one major flaw which could so EASILY have been avoided - NONE of the dialogue has been provided with any slow recorded versions - which is not ideal for beginners. I'm not a beginner so it was less of an issue, but nonetheless, the narrator speaks extraordinarily fast and I also could not make out what was being said at times - and would have to look at the PDF. They could at least have provided a slow version once, for each new phrase as it was introduced. Also in the Q & A sections, there is almost no time for one to provide one's answer. You could pause the recording but that is not ideal really - or if you are listening in the car for example.
if you are a total beginner and are completely reliant on the audio only without the PDF - the spoken speed might discourage you. This course might be a good compliment to another course if you have the basics already. It is also a good course if you have some knowledge and want to let the sound of the language wash over you to improve recognition, while at the same time picking out the words you understand.
I have deducted a star for the lack of slow recorded phrases- at least once. The normal speed versions are sometimes impossible to make out unless you have prior knowledge of the language - and even then it can be difficult.
