Summary

An Ultramarines novel.

Cast adrift on the tides of the warp, Ultramarines Captain Sicarius and his warriors come across a world plagued by a terrible foe - but if they stay to defeat this enemy, what will be the cost?

Listen to it because:

Captain Sicarius returns in a new novel from the author of Fall of Damnos! For the first time, discover what befell Sicarius when he was lost in the warp and how he survived....

The story:

The primarch Roboute Guilliman of the Ultramarines has returned in the galaxy’s hour of need, and all muster to his Indomitus Crusade to hold back the darkness. Amongst these heroes is Cato Sicarius, Master of the Watch and vaunted captain of Second Company. Disaster befalls Sicarius and his brave warriors as their ship, the Emperor’s Will, is lost to the hellish warp, its entire crew believed slain. But Sicarius endures, though he and his men are fighting for their very survival against the denizens of the Great Rift - the daemons and renegades of Chaos.

Cast adrift and war-weary, hope appears too distant to grasp until the storm breaks at last and a strange world beckons. As the captain and a band of his chosen warriors descend to the surface seeking aid, they find an isolated land seemingly from an ancient era, one plagued by a terrible enemy. Sicarius will not see this world suffer and pledges his warriors to the world’s cause, determined to save it, whatever the cost....

But what is the dark secret harboured here, and what will it mean for the Ultramarines if they uncover it? Written by Nick Kyme.

Wow

An amazing and thrilling story with shock and awe but also comedy and sorrow. This book is a great look into the 40K universe and plays well on the Space marines unimaginable skill but also they’re mortality I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to give 40K a try and hat you can’t beat Captain Cato Sicarious of the Ultramarines second chapter.

This is the best 40k audiobook I’ve listened to. The story is solid and the narration is excellent. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Sicarius the legend

Gripping from the start, it takes you on a fine journey of trials and tribulations for the Ultramarines and the blazing light that is Cato Sicarius.
It digs deep into imperial life and the hardships endured by mortals, who against all the odds, overcome dire adversity.
Well told, nail biting drama!

Pleasantly surprised

New to audible and the actual books of wh40k.
I know the lore of just about every race par what I may not have read up upon in these books.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with audible but I am very happy that I chose the book that I did to kick start my new book hobby.
Also being one of the newer books I was worried it may not be as good as older titles, this one is awesome though and if older titles are better than this then I will be in for a real treat!
Recommend to anyone, especially anyone like me now thinking about joining audible and new to the scene !
I was hooked all the way through

Enjoy

Better than expected. The narrator yells too much

It’s an interesting one. The story was a lot more interesting than some of the more recent BL books I’ve listened to.

One thing I really didn’t like was the narrator screams at full volume every time a character in the book speaks loudly which made me have to change volume repeatedly. Otherwise the narration was really good.

we March for Macragge!

brilliant story, well performed. my only qualms are that the audio quality sometimes fluctuated, perhaps an error in the mixing and mastering process? the only other complaint is that people kept trying to talk to me while I was listening to the book and I had to rewind the same sections several times.
