About this listen
When love is the only play that matters…
Agents Bishop and Marshall know:
The clock is ticking.
They control the most dangerous pieces on the board.
Sacrifices will be required to win the game.
Levi and Marsh need to:
Get home to each other and their son.
Fall asleep in each other’s arms again.
Start living the happily-ever-after the rings on their fingers promise.
What began as a marriage of convenience is now the rock Marsh and Levi cling to as they enter the endgame.
But defeating two kings is no easy feat.
They’ll have to make all the right moves and lure their enemies to their side of the board where they have the advantage.
But winning may cost them everything—their careers, their lives, and the love that’s become the center of their world.
King Hunt is the final book of the Perfect Play trilogy and should be listened to after Dead Draw and Bad Bishop. This swoony, single dad, marriage of convenience romance matches two mature, competent men and delivers the happily-ever-after they both so deeply deserve.

Fantastic end to the series!
What a brilliant finish to the Perfect Play series! I fell in love with Levi and Marsh after Marsh offered to marry Levi during their first meeting and even more so during the intensity of the case that they deal with across the trilogy.
There's a lot of blood and found family that become even more important across the books, using found to ensure the safety of blood whilst also working together to bring down those who think of themselves above the law, human traffickers, gun and drug runners, money laundering. The case itself gets intense and gets very personal as their own safety is called into question and they have to work up close and personal with those involved but it's all to meet the end game, to reach checkmate over their opponent.
It's all very well written, drawing me into the story from the first page as we get involved with the developing and deepening relationship between Levi and Marsh, as well as getting closer to the climax of the case. Marsh has pulled in contacts from several different agencies and countries, bringing up and slowly healing last hurts whilst he helps Levi and his son, David, do the same.
A highly recommended suspenseful mystery involving many alphabet agencies and some illegal groups too, working together to bring down the big bad. Layla has done really well at blending together action, drama, investigative work, and romance to create an equally thrilling, sweet and emotional ride for the characters and readers.
Christian's narration has been engaging right from the start. I'm all in with the story as soon as I press play and he perfectly conveys all of the emotion, tension and drama that plays out. It has a good mix of accents from Russia, Europe and across the US. Definitely a recommended narrator.

Love this series!
Y’all I nearly forgot how good Christian Leatherman’s narration for this series is! His narration really brings the characters to life, and gives that extra bit of swoon for this “marriage of convenience turned real” romance. It just reminded me how ride or die Marsh & Levi became for each other so quickly, both referring to them always saying “our family” and “our son” it’s so freaking cute and wholesome even with all the drama happening plot wise.
Now onto the story- What a way to cap off the series! I listened to the first two books on audiobook last year and was instantly hooked to this story and have been eagerly awaiting this final installment for months! Without giving anything away, Layla expertly weaves the story threads to this FBI/International Thriller story with even more twists and turns and loved every minute of this plot in addition to awaiting Marsh & Levi’s reunion!

More Perfection From Reyne & Leatherman
Admittedly I'm a HUGE fan of Layla Reyne. Her Irish & Whiskey series is one of my all-time favorites. Levi and Marsh's trilogy is an excellent read and I highly recommend it. If you love found family and romantic suspense, this is definitely a perfect fit. I'm sad to see the series end, but it was such a wonderful series to read and is now on my 'must reread' list. While it is required to read all three books to get the whole story arc, it's worth every bit of your time. So, dive in and fall in love with Levi and Marsh like I did. As for the audio specifically, Christian Leatherman was a new narrator for me when I started this series. He did a fantastic job with this trilogy and I look forward to listening to more of his narrations.
