Summary
Book three in the LitRPG the series The Realms.
What the Hell Happened to Lex?
All Lex wanted was to help his good buddy Gryph find his sister and maybe save the world along the way. But everything goes wrong from the start when Lex gets separated from Gryph during their transfer into the Realms.
Lost, alone, and forced to live the same day over and over, Lex must defeat the agent of a despotic god, uncover hidden truths about himself, and find his way back to his friend. If he fails the Realms face destruction.
Killing Time is the sequel to the best sellers Barrow King and The Lost City. It is a tale of adventure, mayhem, and loyalty, filled with crazy action, way too much stupidity, and tons of laughs.

a litrpg version of groundhog day!
this third installation of the realms took an old idea and gave it a rather interesting twist with a LitRPG flair.
Armen Taylor again manages to bring the characters to life with talented narration and voice acting. not as action heavy as previous books in the series but a welcome reintroduction to Lex.

While a slow start worth sticking out
I initially felt the story was a little slow getting going, but glad I kept going, the dilemmas of the young MC wee well presented and even had me the adult grumping at the MC, which was well done.

I've already finished book 3?
It's hard to believe that I have already blasted my way through the third novel in this amazing series.
This novel provides an amusing break from the main character whilst still adding a massive amount of narrative and detail to the Realms. I felt that it was a perfect diversion and Lex is a brilliant character to have focused on and fleshed out in such a way. Not only has it elevated him into more than just a supporting character but it also meant that the Realms could be explored and described in a much more amusing way.
The narrator's performance as Lex was great and the difference between the voice of Lex and that of Gryph helped this novel stand out in its own. I wouldn't mind being stuck in a time loop if I got to listen to these books over and over again 😂

A fun break
Although a lot shorter than the others in the series it was a welcomed and funny break from the adventure. Had a lot of funny moments from start to finish.

Groundhog Day meets the Realms
Loved this story. Initially disappointed by the longer of the story but I really enjoyed Lex’s tale. The occasional 80 & 90’s movie references were a welcome distraction from the repetitive nature of the story premise.

Read. enjoy. repeat.
the change in style fit the over acrhing story that is being built. the characters I this tale are loveable and deep. overall its a shortish story that is packed with laughs and revelations. it builds more on what is fast becoming a favourite series
