Summary
From New York Times best-selling author Penelope Ward comes a new stand-alone novel.
The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start.
On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude in a campus bathroom.
(The ladies’ room was out of order. So, I used the men’s room. Don’t judge.)
I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat.
So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb - the British guy from the men’s room.
And so it began...my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that order?
The guy knew how to push every one of my buttons.
Sometimes I’d email him to express my aggravation and disdain.
He’d actually rewrite my own words and send them back to me.
That was the type of infuriating person Caleb was.
So frustrating.
And...
Sometimes incredibly funny and endearingly sweet.
And hot.
He eventually grew on me, and Caleb soon became one of my best friends that year.
Too bad he was headed back to England soon, so nothing could happen between us - for so many reasons.
I definitely couldn't fall in love with him, especially since all we had was just one year.

not the best
I love this author alot but the British accents in this book are very annoying. no one from London whom lived the life the main character did would talk like that. As the book went along it became more and more irritating.

A lovely read
I love Penelope’s books and whilst this book was good for me the romance in it was too slow of a burner, I fact so slow that I found that once I started to enjoy them finally getting together that the book was ended lol. The story line was good and I liked the way the author developed a strong friendship and bond between them so that no matter what happened they would always find a way back to one another.

What a beautiful love story
These two people have both undergone turmoil and disappointment in their young lives. An unusual first meeting triggers animosity from Teagan but Caleb sets her straight through an email conversation (which I really enjoyed) and results in a growing relationship. Lots of interesting characters and a lovely conclusion to the story. The two narrators did an amazing job of bringing the storyline to life. Deserves more than a 5 star rating. Well done Penelope.

Brilliant
This book and the narrators were absolutely fantastic. I loved the British-ness that came through, the sayings, the slang. Being a Brit myself made it even more funny for me so I loved the LOL moments!

Light and easy audio
A wonderful audio to escape with, limited drama, wonderful friendships and great characters. Caleb Yates is studying in America for a year, staying with Teagan Carroll and her family. Both Caleb and Teagan attend the same college, and after a rocky start, a friendship (with a little simmering heat in the making) is formed. The last 30% was my favourite. The first half was nice and easy with both Teagan and Caleb coming to terms with their feelings. A sweet easy romance narrated by two of my favourites, Shane East and Andi Arndt, who are the perfect Caleb and Teagan. One gripe though, why do people think all English people speak with a plum in their mouth. It isn’t so, and it can be frustrating. There are so many dialects used in England and the Queen’s English is only one of them.

Really Enjoyable
I enjoyed this story, it was well written and had just the right mix of serious and light hearted.
Andi Arndt and Shane East did an amazing job. This is a great example of why they are 2 of my favourite narrators.
