About this listen

The creator of the hit show Downton Abbey, Julian Fellowes weaves a tale filled with dark secrets and scandal amongst the privileged set in the upper classes of London society. Wonderful and witty, it perfectly captures a bygone era with a colourful cast of characters and an intriguing story.

Julian Fellowes's Belgravia is the story of a secret. A secret that unravels behind the porticoed doors of London's grandest postcode.

Set in the 1840s, when the upper echelons of society began to rub shoulders with the emerging industrial nouveau riche, Belgravia is peopled by a rich cast of characters. But the story begins on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. At the Duchess of Richmond's now legendary ball, one family's life will change forever....

If you liked Downton Abbey you will love this

Excellent tale brilliantly narrated. It would make a worthy successor to Downton as a TV serial. Highly recommended.

brilliant.

I loved this book.
wasn't sure about the narrator at the start but once I got into it. i thought she was very good. it was every bit as good as Downton and monarch of the glen.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

The trouble is that I listen to books so that the troubles of the day are separated from the night, to hep me go to sleep. this story captured my interest so I listened well into the night. only sorry now it has ended.
Julia is an excellent narrator.

Fabulous

Couldn’t wait to be able to listen as often as I could. Just such a clever book with so very many twists and turns. Great narration too. Loved it.

Amazing book

The audiobook was utterly brilliant and if I could have given the narrator six stars, I would have done so.
The period drama has all the fabulous characters you would expect from a Julian Fellowes's book, and they are all beautifully developed throughout the story.
Juliet Stevenson is superb as the narrator. Each character has its own unique voice tone and accent; so much so, that soon I forgot I was listening to just one narrator telling the story.
I will be listening to this audiobook again in the very near future!

I struggled to get into this one to begin with, I'm not sure why as the narrating was good. it may have been in relation to getting my head around the characters and the linkages between them. nonetheless I have enjoy led listening to this ine
