Summary
Who is the Judas Goat?
It had been 20 years since Lenny Cates had seen or heard from his old college flame Sheena. Theirs had been a brief and tumultuous relationship that ended badly, so when Lenny is notified that Sheena has died in a freak accident and has left her entire estate to him, he feels compelled to investigate the last days leading to her untimely death. As Lenny arrives in town to settle her affairs, he begins to dig deeper into Sheena’s life and learns her final days were cast in shadows of loneliness, depression, and experiments in black magic. Soon, Lenny will discover that Sheena’s death has awakened something insatiably demonic and old as mankind, something lying in wait and growing stronger in a quiet little town where the horrors of the past never truly die, pain is eternal, and nothing is as it seems.
Look closer…sometimes evil hides in plain sight.

Solemnity. Unease. Terror. Beyond the Mirror.
Lenny Cates has an ex lover from years ago in college. Lenny has not seen Sheena in over 20 years. He soon learns Sheena has died, but mysteriously she left her entire estate and home in his name. Oh, and Sheena died, In that same house. Yeah, pretty weird. So he has a girlfriend that is a categorical alcoholic. Empty inside, and hopelessly codependent. Lenny needed a change. So he takes up the offer (which is not only the home but a large amount of money!) and leaves on a greyhound to go dig up the past, to find some meaning, to find out why...
Super eerie! But also very somber! Sad almost. Greg Gifune is a master at writing. Its so easy listening to his words through the vocal expertise of Fred Filbrich. Want my opinion? Check this book out. It is such a cool little book. Its pretty short, but dont get down. Greg has lots of books. I would say this is a pretty cool entry point as Greg's work. This was my first Gifune novel, but most definitely not my last!
