thrilling story
Great story and excellent listen. I wished however that the narrator had made the different voices more distinctive.

Classic spy story, lazily perfomed
This book is something of a masterpiece of mid-20th century thriller writing. it isn't only gripping, there is a delicious degree of cosmopolitanism, Ambler's sense of politics, including dislike of capitalism, is spot-on. His character depictions are terrifically rounded and persuasive, the sense of place is always convincing. Unfortunately the production is poor. The actor makes almost no attempt to pronounce any foreign name or word correctly. Male and female characters are rendered identically. The protagonist of the novel is from the north of England, but the production makes no attempt to convey that. A shame that such a deft novel is condemned to such shabby production and performance.

Brilliantly written, exquisitely performed
But the Turkish pronunciations were awful 🤣 They should gave checked it with a Turkish speaker.

Struggled to stay interested. So slow! Slow story, slow delivery… Didn’t like any of the characters. Not my thing.
