Summary

Jotham is the king of the House of Protection. He was the youngest male ever to assume the position because of the sudden death of his father in Jotham's 20th cycle. In the last 40 cycles, he married his life mate, Lata, and lost her in a transport accident. He had two sons and lost one due to his son's own treachery. Now his first son, Barek, is interested in a woman, and Jotham is going to find out everything about her he can.

Jacinda is from the House of Healing. She is the widow of an assemblyman for the House of Protection. Stephan was her life mate even though he was 20 cycles older than she. His sudden death devastated her, and if it weren't for her three children, she isn't sure she would have survived. In the years that have followed his death, she has learned to live with her loss and, more importantly, that life can still be good. She has healed.

When Jotham summons Jacinda to the Palace, his only intent is for her to help him gather information on Amina, Jacinda's great-niece. That plan goes out the window when Jacinda refuses. She challenges not only his right to interfere in Barek's life but questions how he's lived his own since Lata's death.

Two strong personalities come together after having loved and suffered loss. Can they find enough common ground and courage to chance a new love? Or are they destined to live the rest of their lives alone?

Jacinda'a Challenge

She's done it again!!! This is another great instalment in this series. I can't wait for Baraks story or even Staphanies.

Much better with the female lead voice changed

Thank the ancestors that the female lead didn't sound quite as high pitched and sanctimonious as in the first two books.

This story was about a more mature love story so the intrigue was around the complications of dating someone who is very high profile. Generally, it was a more slow moving plot than previous books in the series though that wasn't a bad thing. It left the author more time to play with the characters.

Jotham was my comic highlight for this book. My absolute favourite part was when he thought he could illicit an orgasm by royal decree! Take win dude!

The voice of William was as sexy as ever and the voice of Adelaide was pure wicked witch of the West. I was honestly waiting for her to cackle. The description of her outfits though... always good for an inelegant snort.

On to the latest in the series which caused me to refresh my memory of this series by getting the audio books.

Better performance than the last episode!

Enjoyed the story much more this time as the performance was better though some of the dialogue were stilted .

Jacinda's Challenge

I have never read a series of book that caught and held my imagination as completely as this one has , even the music adds to the mystery of the whole story. I read the whole of this book from beginning to thrilling end and am now awaiting the next thrilling story in this series with baited breath. I am still waiting to see if their will be another story into series please don't let it and with just 3 books in this series.
