Summary

Dan and Sally Oliver and their friend Chloe Hennessey are lucky to be alive. Three years on, after surviving one of the world's biggest natural disasters - the Boxing Day tsunami - their lives have changed dramatically.

Dan and Sally are now parents. Dan is enjoying being a stay-at-home father taking care of their young son, and Sally is the bread winner and loves her job as a partner in a Manchester law firm. The arrangement has so far worked well, but when Dan starts to question whether Sally has got her priorities right, the cracks in their marriage begin to appear.

Dan and Sally have everything Chloe wishes for in life - a happy marriage and a beautiful child. Dumped by her long-term boyfriend just weeks after the tsunami, she's been on a mission ever since to find the perfect father for the child she craves. When she meets Seth Hawthorne, she thinks she may have hit the jackpot. But is Seth the man she thinks he is?

Easy listening

The srory was exactly as you expect which in many ways is good as it is easy to dip in and out of.
Unfortunately the narrator made all the male characters sound very pompous and arrogant even the ones who were meant to be nice.
I found he narration a bit irritating.
Sorry to be unkind.
Predictably happy ending which is what we expect and enjoy.

Feel good

This was a lovely feel good story, enables one to shut out the worries of the day and pretend. True though it is the little things so a good moral to the story.

Ok but not her best

A bit light and predictable romance with annoying ‘misunderstandings’ compared to other books by this author. Just ok.

Disappointing

I started listening to this after finishing Erica James 'The Hidden Cottage' and this feels like it was written by a different author. I loved the plot, the characterisation and the narration of 'The Hidden Cottage' and the way the author so completely drew me into the characters lives. This book, however, did not grip me at all, the pace was very slow, I didn't particularly like any of the characters and didn't care what happened to them . I also found Julia Franklin's narration irritating especially her voicing of the male characters.

Narration a let down

Lovely story but the narrator’s voice was way too mature for the characters’ age group.

Ok

I did keep listening to the end, but felt that the characters, on the whole, were quite annoying. Nobody actually willing to really talk about anything important. I also found the narrator quite irritating.
