Summary

In simple language and with quiet humor, Eckhart Tolle explores the profound mystery of who we are. Eckhart begins this talk by presenting the problem we face as human beings: almost all of us have created a rigid sense of identity based on our history, our mental interpretations, and our memories of the past. It is who we think we are, "our story", and we constantly support it with endless thoughts in habitual patterns.

Always brings space

Love how it feels to sit, listen and enjoy the space.
I listen to all Eckhart’s talks and audiobooks as it helps me feel grounded and calm. Nowhere I’d rather be. The energy is so healing. Highly recommend it.

Quite short, but Tolle very good.

Would you consider the audio edition of In the Presence of a Great Mystery to be better than the print version?

Not read print version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Not fiction.

Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but come back to it regularly.

Any additional comments?

I used to find Tolle quite affected in his manner, but over this first listen I came to find him easy to hear.

More Eckhart Tolle

If you’ve listened to one of his talks, you’ve listened to them all. There’s only one thing he talks about and that’s presence.
