Summary
In Silverdale, Washington the survivors of a worldwide apocalypse are preparing for the coming winter storms. But just as they’re stocking away the last of the fall harvest, they make a disturbing discovery—someone has pilfered the food supplies!
Long-time neighbors Irene and Hilda Jo might be considered “frenemies.” Despite their differences, however, they’ll have to put their heads together to unearth the thief before winter buries them all.

Great short story.
This is a really good post apocalyptic story about a small community struggling to survive after some kind of spores wipe out much of the worlds population. They pull together and store much needed food for the winter in the Town Hall cellar, great! until someone steals it all. A Mexican family is suspected by one loud mouthed person and many of the members of the community are swayed by him into believing his lies. Irene and Hilda Jo however know different and they set out to find the real thief. A brilliant listen! *****
Carol Anne Shaw does a superb job of narrating the story and really brings everything to life.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.

Very well written with interesting story.
This is a wonderfully written post-apocalyptic book, including for those who don’t usually read/listen to such genre. It’s one of my fav genres but if you have a friend, or a family member, who loves well written books with some amateur detectives in it, and have never thought of listening to post-apocalyptic books, I’m sure they’d love this particular book. It has well developed and interesting characters, and believable stories. The story develops at a good pace and keeps you captivated throughout. It’s narrated with care and I can’t wait to listen to the follow up.
