About this listen
A coincidental meeting with a middle-aged widow sends Charles off to Australia, on the trail of a gang with a fruitful business in forging works of art. In a world of high stakes and tremendous risks, where villains will stop at nothing to achieve their ends, Dick Francis weaves his compelling narrative with the control of a master craftsman.

Australian art world + death of cousin's wife
A classic Francis yarn, an interesting framework that leads the hero around the world in search of organised art thieves.
Beautifully written and lovingly read by Tony Britton, the consumate narrator.

A brilliant plot. Well read and really enjoyable.
A great plot by Dick Francis and, as always, the beautiful voice of Tony Britton. Another few hours spent with a great book! Onwards to the next one!

Pretty gripping.
This was a fantastic book, with lots of twists and turns. If you like horses, art and a good old fashioned whodunnit…. This is for you.

Great book and great narration
The sound can be slightly muffled at times, but the story and the reader are both superb. Each character has a recognisable voice and the Australian and Kiwi accents are well done.
