Sci-Fi sans Sci
I really wanted to enjoy this story, but for me it's important that science fiction is rooted in credulity.
Chapter after chapter I waited for the big reveal that would make sense of the impossible, confident in my guess and excited about the implications.
Alas, it was left entirely unexplored and with no hint a sequel.
At least it only took one book to realise my disappointment (read the Magic 2.0 series if you love this sort of letdown spread over multiple volumes!).
The main characters' failure to adopt a logical and scientific approach to investigating the mystery was jarring; one would expect more from people with their skillset and position.
I concede that I am probably missing the point of this book; this isn't hardcore sci-fi, and if measured in terms of a romantic psychodrama it may well merit a higher score.
Regarding the narration, as observed by 'shropshire lass' in her review, the questionable pronunciation of "Warwick" was an unfortunate and constant distraction throughout the book.

Intriguing idea
Just finished this book and I was a little disappointed by the abrupt ending, I wasn’t ready for it to end. I’d so enjoyed the concept.
Intriguing ideas of an algorithm that could change reality but feels like it had more to offer. What was most frustrating was the pronunciation of the character Warwick. I am sure that it’s not war-wick but like the English town war-rick.
Otherwise it was beautifully read and engaging.
