About this listen
Jared Langford is a happy man. The desk clerk at the Deerbourne Inn knows everyone in his cozy town in Vermont. He is accepted and loved by the community, but he's missing someone special in his life.
Devastating news has brought journalist Xander Fortier to Willow Springs for some much-needed rest. He's photographed every major conflict in the world for the last 10 years, but being stateside has forced him to reassess the solitary life he's been living.
Something in Xander's gruff demeanor calls to Jared's caring nature. Soon the men are spending time together, but Jared's kisses might not be enough to keep Xander from leaving. Can the men find a happily ever after if they only have today?

Simple love story
Do they fall in love quickly? Yes. Did I mind that? No.
It actually fit the story really well.
Here you get two well rounded out characters with complicated pasts and a fair bit of baggage.
There is no heat apart from a couple of kisses but I loved that about it. The romance was simple and sweet.
I quickly got to love both of the MC's and the assorted side characters as all had something about them that added interest.
Of course, as usual, Michael Ferraiuolo's performance just added something special to it

A Gripping & Heartfelt Story! Awesome Narration🎧
I enjoyed this book immensely, the story is well written with interesting characters and storylines. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it for the entire book. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Jared Langford is happy with his life, though he misses having a special someone in his life and even though he never talks about he harbors secrets from his past. He enjoys his job at the Deerbourne Inn and loves small town living and his tight knit circle of friends. He also loves theatre and performing as well as taking photographs. So when journalist/photographer Xander Fortier checks in to the Inn he knows exactly who he is. Xander came to Willow Springs to catch up on rest, he is also working on a very personal project. Jared senses something in Xander and he is drawn to him, Xander is not very friendly at first but Jared does not give up on him. Xander has his own secrets and he is coming to grips with news that is hard to handle. Moving around so much for his job he does not have many close friends or confidents but he feels a connection with Jared, if only he would let him him. I thought these two were great together and perfect for each other. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with drama, a touch of angst, lots of heartfelt emotions and a sweet romance. Gabbi Grey, thank you for the wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Michael Ferraiuolo is a talented narrator and voice artist. He gives each character their own unique voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He does an awesome job portraying the characters, taking each role and making it his own and is convincing and believable in each role he plays. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all of the characters emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen.

Delightful 😊
What a lovely story ❤ The kind of story one reads while cosy, comfy and sipping a favourite drink. Jared and Xander were good for each other - they each gave the other something that made them whole. For Jared, he gets to experience the world, in a way, through Xander's experiences as a photojournalist and Xander finds home, with Jared. A sweet, emotional story.
Again, Michael Ferrauiolo provides a stellar vocal accompaniment to a lovely story ❤ MF has such a range that'll the characters are distinct, including their emotions and personalities. It is always a pleasure to listen to MF. Loved the narration!

If Only for Today
Enjoyable listen. It's a slow burn but fast love relationship with fade to black steam. The characters were likable, as was the well-developed world. I wondered if there was a book or two before this one. It didn't take away from this story bit some interactions seem like there was more to the story.

A sweet tear-jerker.
This was quite the interesting read. Not an angsty book, but a real tear-jerker!
I feel this is the case with many of Gabbi Grey’s books, in my experience: they are usually quite low-angst, but there is always something that brings the meaningfulness and depth up by a few notches. In this case it’s Jared’s past and his relationship with his family, along with Xander’s uncertainty about his future.
Nonetheless this book manages to be very sweet and romantic!
Michael Ferraiuolo did a great job with the different voices and managed to portray emotions in a masterful way!

Sweet romance
Receptionist Jared Langford is content in Derbourne, but his personal happiness is still missing that one special person.
He meets that person when Xander Fortier, a famous and well-traveled photographer, arrives in Willow Spring. The two men begin to spend time together and it is a pleasure to watch their relationship develop. What begins with sympathy soon becomes more. However, both men have their personal demons that they struggle with. Will they manage to overcome them and fight for their happiness?
If you like semi slow burn stories, this is the one for you. I liked Jared from the beginning, he is likable and totally sympathetic. Xander's demeanor is gruff at first, but he has a big heart and is lonely just like Jared. Gabbi has created two strong characters and told the story emotionally despite its brevity. It was well done and it's the perfect short story to listen through in a single day.
I quickly took the protagonists to my heart as well as some of the secondary characters.
Aside from some kissing, there were no hot scenes, but it still fit for me.
I will keep Gabbi Grey in mind as an author because she writes entertaining and fun stories.
Michael Ferraiuolo did a great job. I really liked how he brought the various characters to life with his voice. He is a good narrator and a pleasure to listen to.
I requested a free review copy of this audiobook and this is my honest opinion

A Sweet, Poignant Romance
If Only for Today was a poignant and sweet contemporary romance. Although it seems to be part of the Deerbourne Inn multi-author series, the book stands on its own. I have not read any of the other books in the series, and I had no trouble following along in this book. I instantly really liked Jared, the desk clerk at the Deerbourne Inn. His caring nature was exactly what Xander needed despite his best efforts to put up a wall between them. The focus of the book was the emotional and romantic development between Jared and Xander, and that was done very well which was important due to the angsty plot.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Feraiiuolo, one of my favorite narrators. His voice was perfect for bringing both Jared and Xander alive and he delivered a fantastic performance. The audiobook production was well done and it made for an all around smooth read.

Short, sweet story paired with excellent narration
This is a lovely book that brings all the feels. Jared and Xander’s romance is not the warm and fluffy type. Rather, there’s a serious thread of loneliness and regret running throughout this story. These men have put up tall walls and it takes some doing to allow themselves to really be “seen” by the other. But when it happens it’s a beautiful thing.
Michael Ferraiuolo’s narration of the audiobook is a definite value-add. He brings these characters to life so much so that you forget that he is the one doing the talking, not Jared and Xander. His vocal performance brings dimension to this story, making it a much more immersive experience than it would have been on text alone.
