Summary
Part autobiography, part self-help, part confession, part celebration of being a common-or-garden woman, part collection of synonyms for nunny, Sarah Millican's debut audiobook delves into her super normal life with daft stories, funny tales and proper advice on how to get past life's blips - like being good at school but not good at friends, the excitement of IBS and how to blossom postdivorce.
If you've ever worn glasses at the age of six, worn an off-the-shoulder gown with no confidence, been contacted by an old school bully, lived in your childhood bedroom in your 30s, been gloriously dumped in a Frankie and Benny's, cried so much you felt great, been for a romantic walk with a dog or worn leggings two days in a row even though they smelt of wee from a distance, then this is your audiobook. If you haven't done those things but wish you had, this is your audiobook. If you just want to laugh on a train/sofa/toilet or under your desk at work, this is your audiobook.

Honest & Funny
Not for the faint hearted but incredibly funny and very honest. I felt as If I’d been through a few hours of counselling !!! Despite it being Sarah’s bio, a lot resonated with me. Thoroughly enjoyable listen.

Hear it read by the author!
I was planning to read the book because I enjoy Sarah Millican's humour, but I'm glad I chose to hear her read it herself. Yes, It's often funny, but it's a lot more than that and paints a fascinating picture of why she ended up in the tough world of comedy and how she dealt with the sexism she encountered along the way. It's honest, brave and inspiring - if I had a teenage daughter I would want her to read this book (or better still, listen to it). Sarah Millican would make the perfect role model/mentor for girls in their later years of school! Thank you, Sarah.

Genuine northern lass.
Sarah has a natural honesty to her tone, it's like listening to a friend chat on a phone. I listened to this whilst battling isolation, it made me feel so very normal and reminded me how important friends are. Thank you Sarah love.

Fab!
I loved listening to the audio on my drives to work. As a child with permed hair, glasses since I was 6 and wasn’t the popular kid I could relate and laugh!
Great book, what a women/person/champ 👍🏼

Champion is a knockout!
One of the funniest, most movingly honest autobiographical memoirs I've ever read (and I've read many). At times achingly emotional & intimate; at times absolutely hilarious (often in the same sentence!). But, always, constantly laugh-out loud: BRILLIANT. Very highly recommended!

Hits the nail on the head!
What a great book! Sarah talks about her worries, her insecurities etc at least some of which will ring true for most of us! I found this reassuring as I could relate to so many of the subjects she covers - made me realise either I'm as bonkers as she is or that experiences in our youth are more common than we thought. This book made me laugh and was a great way to distance myself from the hubbub of life; I love listening to Sarah - the equivalent of putting on your jammies and cosy slippers and settling down for a nice cup of tea; Champion!

Surprises in so many ways!
This was a brilliant, touching, revealing and (best of all) laugh out loud funny book. Ms Millican deserves every gram of her success, and in light of her 'fame concerns', she will always get a cheery wave from me. She is truly Champion!
