Summary
Misty Carlisle works as a bank teller in Boston's financial district. She's had more rotten luck in her life than most, except when her childhood crush shows up to cash his paycheck. Then her heart races and her mouth goes dry.
Gabe Fierro is a firefighter - and a phoenix. Like his brothers, his biggest challenge is finding a woman open-minded enough to accept a shapeshifter into her life. When his boyhood friend asks him to watch over his little sister Misty, he reluctantly agrees.
But when the bank where she works gets held up, Gabe does everything he can to protect her. The two of them end up locked in the bank's vault...where things get steamier than either of them ever imagined.

Meh… (review contains spoilers)
The narration in this book was totally the saving grace I think. She did an amazing job at portraying the characters and gave the book some real substance. The plot is really nice but the execution to me left a lot to be desired.
The plot twists were great but they resolved in a too quick and in a not so believable or interesting manner like the whole, stalker looks MFC up to tell her he’s dating someone else. Say… what? That was a total cop out move. Would have liked it to be milked a bit more so there would be some natural escalation and explosions after that long buildup. Also the dragon-phoenix hybrid thing. It came totally out of the left field and then with a snap of the fingers it was corrected turning into nothing but a story told to a character that never was introduced beforehand.
Some things were started and never resolved like the dissipated coca powder and the MMC phoenix tail feathers showing outdoors something that was established like a big no no and breaking the oldest law in the book.
Aside from this there were a lot of details missing. Instead of introducing things that didn’t matter to the story some of that page real estate could have been used to paint the story with more color and depth. The main structure had great promise but the proverbial roof and walls were totally wonky.
