About this listen

Are you looking for a funny, romantic and slightly spicy listen this Summer? Then Adam Hattan has you covered with his debut novel Hiding Him!

Kick back with this heart-warming story that's got buckets of charm, characters you'll quickly fall in love with and a fair amount of drama that'll leave your heart racing. The perfect addition to any young-adult, LGBTQ+ romance or rom-com audiobook listener's collection.

Let's get one thing straight: Cameron Hawkins isn't. What he is, is hopelessly single and longing to escape his village in the arse-end-of-nowhere. That is until a newcomer arrives: Finn. He's tall, dark, obscenely handsome and somewhat of an enigma...

Is Finn the answer to Cam's happily ever after? Or will shadows of the past stand in the way of their palpable chemistry?

Hiding Him explores coming of age, coming out and hearts coming together. In this warm and cosy listen, get ready to laugh with friends, relish in a little spice and gird your loins for several adrenaline-charged moments.

Loved it

I had all the feels, laughed, cried & got annoyed….. a sign of a good book, to me anyway, is that I felt I was there. I could relate, even though I’m probably a bit older than the intended audience…. Hope there is a sequel

A must read and listen

I devoured this book and for me it’s a very worthy 5🌟 I listened to the audiobook whilst annotating my physical copy of the book. Matthew Biddulph was the perfect narrator for Hiding Him and did an amazing job. I will happily listen to more from Matthew. You could feel the emotions that were brought alive from page to audio. Will definitely be listening to the book again. As soon as I started reading I couldn’t stop. Hiding Him is so well written and does not feel like a debut novel at all. A beautiful LGBTQ+ YA coming of age between Cameron and Finn. Hiding Him is full of charm, emotion, friendship, support and a great amount of humour and laugh out loud moments. I really liked Geri and Robyn as well and their friendship with Cam and Finn. Emily was a side character I enjoyed and to me had a very important role. I lost count of the number of times I laughed or felt so many emotions throughout this book. I personally feel that Hiding Him will provide so much support to so many people and making you feel less alone. Congratulations Adam, I truly hope there are more novels from you in the future.

Cute, Funny & very Adam-y

I was nervous about reading this as a straight woman, partly because I expected it to be out of my lived experience but high school romances are similar in any gender apparently. 😘 I was a fan of Adam’s Disney YouTube work so reading his debut novel seemed like a logical next step.

The character dynamics from the ups to the downs

What a page turner, I had to stop myself from listening to this all in one go. The perfect accompaniment to a road trip from the point when I was cackling with laughter at a red light and got a very odd look from the car beside me to the point where I was feeling the emotions of the characters and providing commentary alone in the car. I was gripped and now I just want the second book to read.

A beautifully amazing story

Where do I even begin……

"Hiding Him" is a cozy, charming, and heartwarming read that captures the emotional and complex journey of adolescence—growing up, self-discovery, and first loves. I was fortunate to receive a PR Box with an advance copy before its July release, and I absolutely loved it! And I couldn’t wait to listen to it here too.

The word that best describes this book is adorable. It vividly reminded me of the tumultuous emotions of being a teenager. Adam has done a great job of portraying the teenage experience through the characters' stories.

While the book is cozy and warm, it also addresses homophobia and bullying. Adam integrates these harsh realities into the narrative in a truthful and respectful manner, highlighting the challenges LGBTQ+ individuals often face.

The story has an amazingly diverse cast of well-developed characters. The side characters aren't just supporting roles in Cam and Finn's story; they each have their own personalities and stories that are equally engaging.

Importantly, "Hiding Him" reassures readers/listeners that they are not alone. Books like this are vital for young adults, providing comfort and making them feel seen and understood. Such representation in literature is crucial, and this book achieves that beautifully.

Listening to this book was a delightful experience, and I'm especially proud to have had an early opportunity to read it and then listen to it here.

Matthew Biddulph does a fantastic job of narrating the story, with great enthusiasm and perfect voices for the characters.

Finally, thank you to Adam Hattan for this perfect story. Thank you for sharing your story, and for all the other ways in which you share your life with us all. The ‘Final Chapter’ was the perfect way to end this book. Keep spreading the magic.

Such a lovely story!

I have already read the book but wanted to listen to the whole story again. You can really tell there are elements of Adams true life in this story. The characters just feel real. It really took me back to my school days! Brilliant first novel by a very talented man. Would love a sequal or two!
