About this listen

The unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Michael Moore's anti-memoir, Here Comes Trouble, narrated by the man himself. Breaking the autobiographical mould, he hilariously presents 20 far-ranging, irreverent vignettes from his own life. Moore is his own meta-Forrest Gump, as one moment he's an 11-year old boy stuck on a Senate elevator with Bobby Kennedy, and the next moment he's inside the Bitburg cemetery with a dazed and confused Ronald Reagan. Changing planes in Vienna, he escapes death at the hands of the terrorist Abu Nidal (others weren't so lucky). He founded his first underground newspaper in fourth grade. He refused to be on the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite at 16 ("There's not enough Clearasil in the world for that to happen"). And he became the youngest elected official in the country at age 18 by enlisting an "army of local stoners" who had no idea what they were doing as his campaign staff.

Before Michael Moore became the Oscar-winning filmmaker and all-round rabble rouser and thorn-in-the-side of corporate and right-wing America, there was the guy who had an uncanny knack of just showing up where history was being made. This book is a wild, revealing, take-no-prisoners ride through his early life. Alternately funny, eye-opening, and moving, this is a book Michael Moore has been writing - and living - for a very long time.

Funny , insightful.....a great read.

Moore writes as a collection of stories that, whilst giving insight in a biographical style, also are key moments and events that show how his attitudes and missions in life has developed.

Mr Moore is one of the globes most woefully under-utilised resources. All peoples and every country need a Michael Moore. Driven by the right stuff to do the right thing, this books gives insight to a man who although steadfast in his beliefs is also clearly vulnerable and humble making his stand against some of the worlds biggest political and corporate forces all the more remarkable. Lesser men would break and fade away. He hasn't and the world is better off for it and he does it with such humour too. This book is a must, for fans and non fans alike.

simply the best

If you are interested in Michael Moore this is amazing I now know the man behind the movies. This is hilarious and serious all at the same time. As his path unfolds you are able to see how unique this man is. He has no ego driven force, and opportunitys open themselves up to the man he is. Very well written and read.

What a brilliant book!

What a brilliant & entertaining book this is, and to have it read by the author himself just added to it. Michael Moore is an inspiration & the world needs more like him.

If You Like Michael Moore ......

This is a good listen and gives an interesting insight into Michael Moor the person, rather that one of his controversial subject matters. Worth a read.

Starts a bit slow but excellent once you get into it

Quite outstanding. I had no idea that he had such a remarkable history. Takes a bit to get going but there are some really jaw-dropping stories in there. Highly recommended.
