As good as the first
I loved the first book in this series and then I thought they slightly went down hill however, this book for me is on parr with Daughter of the Forest. It was wrote beautifully and I loved the language used. The story was full, perfectly detailed and believable, as believable as fantasy goes!
My only complaint is there are a few sound and recording issues throughout, it's not significant but does distract from the story at times, otherwise the narrator is perfect 👌

Good story spoiled by ignorant attitude to suicide
Firstly, the recording is terrible in places. Including the narrator's mistakes which jump you out of the story and have you wondering what on earth is going on. It is by far the worst audio I've ever heard for this.
As is usual for this author, the story itself is a good one but i found it ruined by the repeated attitude that those who are driven to suicide do not love their families or are weak. This is a shameful view of mental health and perpetuates unhealthy and unhelpful attitudes to those struggling with more than they can bear. Not to mention how hard it would be for readers who have experienced such a loss of friend or loved one. It seems to be a repeating thing for this author and is rapidly putting me off her work.

Amazing!
I took a big break from the sevenwaters series as book 3 was a bit disappointing for me. But I’m so glad I came back! Heir to Sevenwaters was amazing and followed on so nicely from the first three books. It’s nice seeing the characters we know and love grow up.
The narration was excellent.

I have enjoyed the twists and turns of the story and the love that the two main people in the story and that she gets her brother back from the Lord of the Oaks
What about Rosalyn Landor’s performance did you like?
1. She changes her voice for different people in the book so this makes it more interesting
2. Her Irish accent makes you feel that you are in Ireland
3. She keeps you hooked
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
How that she looked after the changling until she could get her baby brother back and then she goes back to get the of live of her life. It follows on from the previous books in the series
Any additional comments?
If you look a good story please dont be put off as it Si-Fi book as it very interesting once you listen to it.
The only thing that spoils the books are the preview of the next book as it just nice to not knowing about the first chapter.

Audio needs editing!
Marillier is as always a great writer but this audiobook has been very poorly edited or not edited at all. The narrator makes numerous mistakes which I imagine is natural in the recording process but many of these have not been edited out. She repeats sentences, goes back to correct herself etc. Not what I expect from an audible book.

Sack the editor
Would you try another book written by Juliet Marillier or narrated by Rosalyn Landor?
Yes, and indeed I already have.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Rosalyn Landor?
The narrator's voice is pleasant and gives depth to the audio recording.
Any additional comments?
While the story and narration of this part of the Sevenwaters series are excellent, this particular book has been very poorly edited. The quality in books purchased from audible is usually quite good. In this case it fell poorly short of the mark. Repeated sentences, points where the narrator pauses mid sentence to go back to correct herself, making a note on the audio that there is an error all of which should have been picked up by an editor before release. Whether the fault is due to Rosalyn Landor or a separate editor, the mistakes kept pulling me out of my immersion in the book and greatly reduced my enjoyment of it.
