Summary
Montana's new life in Vuldranni, the medieval fantasy game world he lucked into, isn't quite the tranquil extended fishing trip he'd been hoping for. But you gotta admit, he's doing pretty well for himself. Now he's Montana Coggeshall, heir to a dukedom. If he can get his crew to Osterstadt and claim it in time.
Heir Today, Pawn Tomorrow is a heart-pounding adventure through uncharted territory. Montana and the party must cross WarWaters, a lake that offers everything but a pleasure cruise, and then race through a dense, forbidden forest full of hungry beasts, unfriendly races, and a few cocky nobles. If you're ready for an epic quest full of hellbeasts, ghost royals, and wyrm guts, this is the book for you.

Great story, well told. Rip-off at only 6hrs
Great story but way too short. Most other LitRPG books I’ve listened too are at least 12hrs if not more. I love the story so far but it rankles to spend a credit on something so short. Made up by the first book being part of the audible library.

Great world moronic protagonist and bad dialogue
The worldbuilding is still great, and the cities, NPC and dungeon feels vibrant. The protagonist is even stupider and worse written than in the first book, constantly trying mediocre slang that would not even be witty in the real world. He also, for a former hardnosed biker enforcer, is very squeemish and seems to have forgotten all the basic survival traits from his former life. And then all the dialogues. Every single line is either sarcasm or anger, most of it directed at the protagonist - even saving people does not make them react less cliche and childish. I can only conclude this series was written by a juvenile that had no concept of how adults interact. The series stops here for me, great concept but I cannot deal with this hack writing.
