About this listen
Book 4 in the multicast duet narrated smash series, Heartless Villain concludes The Mate Games: Death with an all-star cast.
Captain Hook isn’t loyal to anyone, but I’d die for her.
Once I was a prince, then I became a lost boy, then their king. Now, I’m nothing more than a heartless villain.
Or at least so I thought. Until I met her. Until I had a reason for that husk in my chest to resume its beating. I know I’m not alone. She’s worked her magic on all of us. Her monstrous beast
Her vengeful dragon
Her merciless god
And of course me, her mad pirate
I’ve been trapped far from home, without my crew, without my ship. A captain with no purpose. But Dahlia is my port in the storm. She calls me to her and grounds me. Unfortunately, it’s not enough. With every passing tick, tick, tick, my madness grows. How can I protect her when I can barely remember who I am? Something dark is coming for us all. It’s been hiding in the shadows, but now it’s time to play in the light. And even without a compass to guide me, I’ll fight for her until the bitter end.

Aural Nirvana
Two years after the first book, Obsession, was released and this series just goes from strength to strength!!! It is a truly epic work of art that K Loraine and Meg Anne have created, an entire paranormal universe with an array of characters you cannot help but take to heart.
This book is the finale of the latest Death series, my personal favourite, and it has everything you could expect and more. Its a perfect culmination for a series which has consistently levelled up from its predecessors which is no small feat. Once again at its heart is a paranormal reverse harem romance with our central FMC Dahlia being the best one yet. Beautiful, SO damn funny and neurotic but endearing at the same time, and she is a writer (bonus points for that) she is the one I have identified with the most due to her anxiety spirals which are a little too relatable. This series BELONGS to Stella Hunter, the audio queen we are not worthy of and Dahlia is one of her very best performances.
Everything about this amazing book is heightended, the audio production effects, the insanely incredible multi-cast, the grand scale epic nature of the ultimate good v evil battle to save the world. Large scale battles with dragons, faeries, zombies, ghosts, vampires, angels and demons - everything you can think of. An intricate sub plot involving a murder mystery with so many twists it will keep you guessing. I mean it just has everything, there are no words. There is wicked humour and an array of easter eggs and cameos from characters in interconnected books as a love letter to the hard core fans. But then there is the emotional rollercoaster of events in this book which will keep new fans hooked. This book will make you laugh, cry, swoon and then make you beg for more.
Oh and lets not forget the SPICE. There is plenty of that and pretty much from the start and the bonus of it being the last book in the series....well the boys have finally learnt how to share, if you know what I mean. Supernova levels of heat!
If you want your paranormal romantasy to be a truly immersive aural experience then you need the Mate Games in your life.

Why Choose Paranormal Romance
Heartless Villain by Meg Anne and K. Loraine is a why choose paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Stella Hunter, J.F. Harding, Jason Clarke, John Hartley, James Joseph, and Samantha Brentmoor. This is the fourth and final book in The Mate Games: Death series.
I absolutely love the Mate Games World! Meg and Kim do an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Dahlia, Tor, Hook, Kai, and Cain over the course of the series. I really enjoyed all the different points of views we got throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait for the next spin off of this series The Mate Games: Apocalypse to be released in 2025.
I absolutely love that they do a full cast of narrators for this series. It just brings the story to life. I love all these narrators and can't wait to listen to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this series if you're looking for a paranormal romance, why choose romance, or fated mate's romance.

Incredible series!
Finally, the last installment to The Mate Games: Death series! I needed to know what was going to happen next. Caspian finishes out this four part series, the Peter Pan element and his hilarity had me from the start. What a fantastic character! Death was a great character, had me almost rooting for her, and I do say almost, but with the many twists and turns, I was completely captivated and had to keep listening. Then it finishes with the many epilogues, be still my heart. Loved this fantastic collaboration and enjoyed every minute.
Now the narration. I don't even have to say how amazing it was. Duet style with a cast of seasoned talent bringing to life a story like this is no easy task. Each voice, perfect to the character, consistent book to book, and oh so yummy! Loved this multicast, I can only imagine the fun they had putting it all together. Thank you Meg Anne and Kim! This was a fabulous series.

Great ending to this Series
All of the Mate Games Series have been fantastic, but Death has been such an entertaining series and has topped them all for me. So entertaining- has it all. Loved all the characters but Hook was my favourite so many facets to him. Cannot say enough good things about this cast of narrators they are absolutely fantastic they are so well chosen. Would highly recommend these audiobooks and look forward to more Mate Games in the future
