Summary

A hilarious and heartfelt debut from multi-award winning, hearing-aid wearing comedian, actor and author Samantha Baines.

The intergalactic adventure starts at home with Harriet, who discovers that her hearing-aid can do more than she ever bargained for when she finds an alien in her room. Discovering that her family secretly work for an intergalactic agency, Harriet becomes the Earth's first line of defence as the only one who can understand the invaders. Sure, her hearing aid helps her understand aliens from across the universe - if only she could understand her own feelings.

Car journey pleaser!!

We listened to this story on a long car journey and my children ages 6, 8 and 12 really enjoyed it. They drew pictures of the different aliens in it. It really captured their imagination. The reading voice was nice to listen too. And the accents of the others was well done too. Not patronising, not annoying and easy to understand

Loved the touch of inclusion of trans and dead children. Subtle but nice mentions. Normalising otherwise ignored subjects.

We will look for another by this author.
Highly recommend.

What a wonderful book!

We really, REALLY hope there's gonna be a second (and third, and forth, and tenth) part!
Me and my 9 year old listened about Harriett and Sock Muncher almost every day and we were so sad it had to end!
Absolutely one of our favourites!!❤️

My kids 5 and 8 loved it

I haven’t listened to it myself but my kids say “we loved it”. They liked that it’s funny, and cute, they liked the sock muncher.

Children Love It

My children have been listening to audiobooks nightly since a young age. This book instantly hit a note with both of them and they intently listened until the end.
