About this listen
What kind of god would you be? Deep beneath the earth, Corey finds himself reborn as a God Core - a sentient crystal with unusual powers. His new worshippers? A colony of incompetent gnomes, scratching out an existence in their underground grotto.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Corey soon realises that his gnome denizens are about to become extinct. They are threatened by groups of blundering adventurers and abducted by raiding kobolds to be sacrificed to their own dark god: an ancient, mysterious foe who does not take kindly to Corey’s arrival.
With the aid of his helper sprite and a menagerie of newly evolved creatures, Corey must protect and guide his gnomes until they can stand on their own two feet. But the kobold army is on the march, led by his new rival’s powerful avatar.
It’s a hard rock life, being a God Core. Inspired by the god sims such as Black & White, dungeon managers like Dungeon Keeper and civ builders like Age of Empires, God of Gnomes is the first in a new generation of LitRPG and Dungeon Core stories - God Core.

the line betwee depth and being a dick
the story was compelling and paced well, there is only 3 characters really and all of them are annoying but I cant tell how much of that is the performance over the writing, it's worth it if it's on sale or you're dying for this genre, I enjoyed it aloT but I ended up shouting at the MC too much to bother with a sequel

An interesting take on the genre
Fairly slow start and main the character starts off incredibly annoying and is kind of an idiot and a dick. But he does mellow towards the end and actually starts to use his brain. Worth a listen if you want to try something new. Hope the second book is a little more fast paced though.

Intriguingly different and wonderful
This was a new genre for me and it was so refreshing to read/listen to something different. I've read a lot of fantasy and they always follow the same trope. This was different and I loved it. I loved that the focus wasn't on just the action and fighting. I can't wait for the following books.
