About this listen
Ghosted - an emotional, addictive pause-resister from the best-selling author of Derelict and Charcoal.
Violet and Zoe are best friends, joined at the hip...until Zoe vanishes.
Meanwhile Violet struggles to juggle a new relationship and a demanding job as a midwife, where she meets a mum-to-be who faces her own unexpected challenges.
Who can Violet turn to? Who can help her to find out what lies behind Zoe’s mysterious disappearance? This is a story with twists and turns. A story of friendship. A story of trust.
Violet has been through more than her share of bad relationships. She’s worked hard to land her dream job as a midwife. Her best friend Zoe has been with her through thick and thin.
Zoe seems to have it all. She loves her job as a teacher. She’s petite and gorgeous and she is married to Luke, who is dependable, attractive and pretty much perfect.
Things start to unravel when Zoe suddenly vanishes, exactly when Violet needs her most....
Violet meets a mum-to-be who is facing catastrophe and chaos. How will Violet cope without Zoe? Who can help her to find out what has happened to her best friend?
This story contains suspense, drama, tension and a friendship between two characters that listeners will root for every step of the way. Chick lit, with a twist of suspense.
All that and a smattering of medical drama too...what more could you want for your next listen of 2020?

Friendship
Not my normal choice of book but I enjoyed it. The narrator did a perfect job and brought the main character to life. Thank you for the free code in exchange for a honest review.

Okay ...
I got a free copy of this audiobook and was asked to write an honest review.
The description of the books sounded so much better than the story itself. I was honestly hoping for the story to go in a different direction, but in the end it was okay.
I do think that Janet did a great job with telling the story.
I guess I just hoped it would have been more of a mystery or at least more suspenseful but it just didn't.

Ghosted
Violet and Zoe have been friends forever. They’ve been there for each their through thick and thin, the good times and the bad... so what could have caused Zoe to just disappear?
J.E. Rowney has written a great story about the ups and downs of relationships. I really felt for the characters and what they were going through.
Janet Coulson’s performance was very well done. She really brought out the emotions.

Not my usual, but a pleasant surprise
I normally dip in and out of audio books, slowly finishing them an hour at a time. The compelling narration got me through the story in two sittings. the characters and initial plot led me to believe I had guessed the way the story would pan out. I was so wrong and as the plot developed I found myself surprisingly drawn into a genre I had previously passed over. I really enjoyed the performance and characters.

Mesmerising
I am thrilled to have chosen Ghosted as my first experience of Audible. Violet the protagonist has been my companion as I have run the Couch to 5k and both Rowney’s writing and Janet Coulson’s performance kept me fully engrossed and motivated throughout. A quietly empowering piece of storytelling for our times. Highly recommended.

nice enough
This is the third book of J.E. Rowney that I've read lately and I can clearly see a theme.
It's a nice story, but I feel like not all storylines have a meaning in the big scheme - it feels a little like an over-reach or that there are loose ends.
There are some sweet moments there, but the end was a little disappointing for me.

Good story
I was given this review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Zoe and Violet have been friends since they were 3 and never let anything come between . Then Zoe stops contacting Violet and she has no idea why ,she goes out of her way to try and find out what she has done to upset Zoe to no avail. Every time she mentions to her BF he gets very angry and tells Violet she should forget about Zoe she doesn’t deserve to have Violet in her life but he doesn’t understand and she can’t figure out why it bothers him so much. Enjoyed the story and the characters and glad Zoe comes to her senses and tells Violet why she ghosted her.
