About this listen

Hiro

Seeing the dead has never been easy, but the last thing I expected was to be a pawn in a serial killer’s game.

Moving in with Maddox was supposed to be the only thing we needed to worry about. Not a dead teacher, and not the fact that a serial killer knows my abilities. Following the trail left behind leaves us racing against time to figure out how to stop the murders before the final victim falls. Thankfully, I’m not alone. Maddox and my wonderful team of unusual ghosts are there to make sure that we don’t end up players in this twisted game.

Maddox

Nothing is drawn to Hiro like danger and ghosts, and this time, he’s managed to find himself tangled in both. Suddenly I find myself caught between protecting Hiro and saving the lives of those who are next on a deadly list. The killer’s mistake is that he doesn’t realize just how far Hiro and I will go, and that we’re going to end this game before the final pawn falls.

Enjoyable Story

Enjoyable paranormal romance that is well written with good world building and likeable characters. The narration is very good as well.

Great book and series

I really loved this book as well as the rest of the series. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters. The narrator was great as well. He brought out each character's personality and each one had a different voice. As for the pronunciation of the character Nicolas, one reviewer stated that the narrator pronounced it as 'nickel arse' which is not how he pronounced it. Perhaps they should have seen the name in print, noticed how there is an accent sign above the 'a' and remembered that in the book he was of Spanish decent. This was recognised in the previous book when he recalled an insult regarding his assumed nationality by a bully as being from Mexico. The narrator used a Spanish pronunciation. I decided to check into it before my review. One of my pet peeves is when someone leaves a negative review in a petty manner that lowers the rating of an otherwise good book. We all have a opinions about books but I prefer to leave those that actually help people decide whether a book is worth taking a chance on. I'll get off my soapbox now. Although the book didn't end on a cliffhanger, I hope there will be at least one more in the series that explains why Reggie, Natalie and Keaton are still around.

Another awesome adventure

Hiro and Maddox embark on their next ghostly murder mystery.
The narration as usual is top notch.
The ghosts are sassy and troublesome.
A must for all Alice Winters fans, or anyone who likes a smile with their mystery and romance.

Last one for me

I just can’t take any more of Reggie. Silly voice and the mix of little kid with stupid porn fixation jars.
The pronunciation of Nicholas as Nickel arse throughout nearly drove me insane. You would not believe how many times his name is said.
Greg is one of my favourite narrators and like so much of this author’s work but giving up on this series. Great shame because really like the main characters.
