Summary

The moon beamed down genially on the turrets and battlements of Blandings Castle. Sleep, however, eluded Clarence, ninth Earl of Emsworth. To be compelled to play host to his younger son, Freddie, was enough; add his sister Veronica and a chap called Tipton Plimsoll and you have a situation at which the doughtiest earl might quail...

A triumph!

This book is truely P.G. Wodehouse at his best. An excellently observed study of characters and truly laugh out loud amusing. Jeremy Sinden's rich tones make it a joy to listen to. A must for any Wodehouse fan, and if you have not tried him before, I would recommend you try this - you are unlikely to regret it.

Blessed Blandings

Listeners will know that there are no hard and fast rules about Blandings Castle, save it always being summer and light hearted chaos. So it proves in this novel. Young, old and in between are caught in the tentacles of romantic intentions that some want to thwart. Jeremy Sinden performs the novel with glittering panache. Expect to laugh loudly, and wonder at Wodehouse's references. it might benefit having listened to other novels in the series, but only might. a great listen waits for those who decide on a roller-coaster of fun and pleasure.

Easy and entertaining.

Would you consider the audio edition of Full Moon to be better than the print version?

No, P G Wodehouse's genius can be appreciated more fully in print. However this audio edition is a very easy and entertaining listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

If you read or listen to P G Wodehouse's stories of Blandings Castle all the characters connected to it become like old friends.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this audio book. It is typical Wodehouse, the story is light and humorous and Jeremy Sinden's narration is very good.

Enjoyable but not his finest

Enjoyed it but felt there was maybe a plot thread too many so struggled to finish it a bit more than normal.

Not the best

It’s good rollicking stuff, though somewhat tedious in spots. Definitely worth a listen. The narrator’s constantly arch delivery can be annoying. I wish Jonathan Cecil had managed to read all of Wodehouse!

Never fails

Wodehouse can be relied on to amuse and entertain. A brilliantly witty and well narrated addition to the series.
