About this listen
After years renovating a ramshackle farmhouse in rural Ireland, Nick and Lesley can finally relax and enjoy the quiet life. They hope to spend their days gardening, writing, and taking their dogs for long walks through beautiful County Clare. Although the years ahead may look sunny, there are dark clouds building beyond the horizon.
Will love and good humour see them through these testing times, or will their dream end in tears? Find out in this fourth episode of the Alberts’ countryside adventures.

"Outside the lines of political correctness."
"Colouring outside the lines of political correctness."
What a joy this series is. This is the fourth instalment in the recounting of the trials, tribulations and absolute joys of leaving the stresses of life in southern England for the rural laidback friendlines of a remote tumble down house in a remote part of Southern ireland. Often amusing, sometimes sad, this time there is less about construction work and more about family, from the daughter still in England, birth and death and, of course, the dogs - and for those readers who like a furry feline, look out for a new addition of (almost) two!
Narration is again by Andy Stevenson, a perfect choice, reading with warmth and total emotional understanding. A pleasure to hear. This book has everything, well almost, no murders yet! But there is glorious scenery, interesting places, fascinating people, humour, excietment, let's and quirkiness. Just brilliant.
My thanks to the rights holder of Fresh Eggs and Dog Beds 4, who, at my request freely gifted me a complimentary copy. Anyone who hasn't get begun to get to know the Alberts, I very much recommend a start with book one. This is a series which does not dissapoint.
Fabulous.

Another brilliant installment of the series!
I've binged the entire Fresh Eggs and Dog Beds series over the past two weeks. I really enjoy Nick's writing and his humorous and warm perspective. He seems like such a great person and I feel like I know him now having read these memoirs!
I'm looking forward to the next installment and hope life is treating Nick well! Fabulous narration by Andy Stevenson throughout this series too, which really added to my enjoyment. Highly recommend!

Top of the list
I thoroughly enjoyed the previous books in this series written by Nick Albert and narrated by Andy Stevenson, so much so that when this was released only a few days ago, it shot to the top of my listening list!
And as usual it was funny and entertaining, but this time with some sad bits too, as the title suggests, which I won’t spoil for you.
Nick’s sparkling writing and Andy’s flawless narration make this book sound like a well-scripted and well-acted radio drama. A just perfect ‘feel-good’ experience for listeners as the cold and dark months approach.

Enjoyable
This has been another enjoyable book that has kept me company whilst making dinner each evening. Again the story expressed family life and of course the writer's experience in rural Ireland.
Some sad parts but again some pleasant ones, like the birth of the grandson, the amusing episode of wrestling with cats and the decision to have a new puppy. The couple seem very caring, and adventurous animal lovers. A book to enjoy.
Andy Stevenson's narrating added to the realistic situations and characters in the book, as he made them come to life. The talking smart phone app made me both laugh and think what an intrusion, but they bought another what sounds like an adorable puppy.
