Can the spirit of Christmas reignite an old flame?

With her thriving business Cottage Angels, Freya Bolton prepares the Lake District’s holiday homes for Christmas visitors. It’s her job to think of everything, from cinnamon-scented candles to tasteful decorations and hampers of seasonal treats.

If only her love life were such a success… After being burned by past relationships, she’s now determined to steer clear of love for good.

So when she bumps into gorgeous – and single – ex-boyfriend Travis, a no-strings festive fling seems perfect.

But when her feelings for him begin to develop, is she on track for another romantic calamity? Or could this Christmas give her the gift of true love?

This gorgeous Christmas romance from Sunday Times bestseller Phillipa Ashley will take you to the Lake District with a story of second chance love as heartwarming as a cup of mulled wine.

Wonderful warm and feel good Christmas in the beautiful Lake District

There is nothing quite like a Christmas story set in a proper English village community, surrounded by beautiful countryside with just the right amount of jeopardy to keep you looking for your next opportunity to take a walk and carry on listening.
Phillipa never fails to create believable characters (and “Uncle Tardis” was a stroke of genius for the listener) - they really are people you feel you might know in your own life, but with a more interesting back story! I always comment on how Phillipa gently educates as she weaves her stories, but without getting too technical so you feel you know a little bit more than when you started but not overwhelmed. Personally I was particularly fascinated by the titbits about setting up holiday cottages for Christmas and the mishaps to be fixed.
The perfect book to accompany you on a chilly winter walk, or to curl up in front of a fire with a glass of mulled wine to be transported away for a few hours - but with the trademark couple of twists along the path to happiness.

Waste of my purchase...sorry Phillipa

The childlike voice of the narrator who never changed her childilike tone for any of the characters..sadly made this uneventful story a struggle to listen too.

Narrator spoiled it for me, sadly

Sorry to say the narrator of the audiobook didn’t work for me and I struggled to get past that but I liked the story. It would have been better to read the hard copy.
