Summary
One of the key professional wrestling or "sports entertainment" writers, Vince Russo helped pen modern wrestling's most electric storylines. Revealing the true, behind-the-scenes stories from some of wrestling's most famous moments, including Bret Hart's lost championship and the rise to superstardom of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley, and The Rock, this autobiography is the one that every wrestling fan has been waiting for.
Touching and beautifully written, this memoir offers a modern day parable about the price of success and the power of redemption.

Too much religion. No WCW
I bought this book hoping to hear Vince Russo's side of wrestling history. He's always the punchline of a wrestling joke so I wanted to give him a chance to explain everything in his own words.
I felt I was preached at with religious babble every other paragraph. I didn't mind this initially but it became so repetitive that I want to stop listening entirely.
He tells a very conflicted story where he wants credit but then doesn't want credit on his creative contributions. There's no consistency. I also noticed that he rarely, if ever, spoke about his own errors or negative contributions (besides "the old Vince" religious babble) while happily blaming others trying to create the illusion that he was always a genius & everyone else were not on his creative level.
Another major factor of why I bought the book was to hear his stories from WCW but the book abruptly ends with his last days in WWF. Where's the rest of the wrestling story? It's 11 hours long and no WCW? Anyway, I felt short changed on the WCW topic (bro)

Lots of disproved stories but still interesting
Lots of the content has been disproved over time and Vince’s gift for self promotion is definitely on show. Would be nice to thing he has genuinely been saved but again his actions in 2024 make that seem a little unlikely too.
