About this listen
A new stand-alone dark mafia romance from USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author, Siobhan Davis™.
Natalia Mazzone has grown up knowing she is promised to a made man. As the only daughter of one of New York’s most powerful mafia dons, she knows she can’t refuse. It’s her duty, and she would never dishonor her beloved father.
But the man she’s promised to is a monster. And there is nothing but torture, pain, and heartache lying in wait.
So, she grabs happiness when she finds it - in the somewhat reluctant arms of Leonardo Messina.
Leo is her brother’s best friend. A soldato for the Mazzone famiglia. A man with strong ambition and an even stronger resolve. He won’t allow them to give in to temptation, so Natalia is forced to love him from afar.
Until one forbidden night changes everything, and she readily hands Leo the key to her heart.
Leo risked everything for the one woman he can never have. He doesn’t regret it. It saved Natalia from a life of hell, but his actions set her on a different course.
One that doesn’t involve him.
Years have passed, and his feelings remain the same. Yet he keeps his distance, dedicating himself to his new role as underboss to Bennett Mazzone, while the love of his life is married to another man.
Until a twist of fate puts Natalia in his path again, and this time, he is powerless to resist.
This is a full-length stand-alone novel with no cliff-hanger and an HEA. For listeners who enjoy brother's best friend, second chance, dark mafia, forbidden romance.

Absolutely Perfect Book!
Natalia and Leo are everything. They have loved each other forever, but when your the daughter of a mob boss you don't get to love. Every move is like a chess board, made with skill and motive. She must do what's best for her family not herself. This book had me on the edge of my seat so many times. There is so much action. So many times I was afraid for Natalia, but she's a fighter and doesn't give up. I love how she makes the best of her situation, but still holding out hope that somehow her and Leo will be together. Leo is such a good man. He's hot and will do whatever it takes to be with Natalia. He will make you swoon. This is an amazing story by an amazing writer.
Michael Gallagher and Sarah Puckett do an amazing job narrating. They are really great at the voices and keeping you listening.

Intense, Angsty and Emotional...LOVED It!!!!
Natalia is the daughter of a very powerful mafia don, and her life is determined for her, and she has no power and is at the mercy of the men in her life. For most of her life she has loved her brother's best friend, but she has never acted on it because the consequences would be disastrous. Natalia and Leo eventually have their moment, though short-lived, and Natalia goes on to marry as planned, and everyone lives on, carrying on mafia traditions, but miserable.
Forbidden to Love hooked me from the start like so many of this author's stories do. It was heartbreaking, angsty and gut-wrenching, and full of so much drama and action until it came full circle at which point the world was righted and happily ever afters were made possible, and my heart was healed...mostly.
I absolutely loved how much Leo and Natalia loved each other and my heart broke for all of their missed time and all the hurts they suffered due to their circumstances. I was so engrossed in this story from beginning to end with constantly trying to figure out exactly what was going to happen and where the story was going to lead. Siobhan Davis is a master story creator, and I always know I am going to be wowed when I dive into one of her books, and Forbidden to Love was no exception.
Michael Gallagher and Sarah Puckett did a truly fantastic job with the narration of this story. They really put their all into this so that all the emotions of this story line came through in their narration. I would highly, highly recommend them both and I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future as well as reading more from this author.

Leo and Natalia!
Natalia was born and raised in a mafia family, and she has always known that when the time came, she wouldn’t have a choice when it came to who she spent her life with as the arrangement would be more merger than marriage. She now finds herself being forced to marry a vile man while Leo, who not only works for her brother but is his best friend, owns her heart.
Leo knows that he and Natalia can never truly be together but that doesn’t diminish the enduring love that he has for her. He will do anything for her and that includes remaining on the periphery of her life keeping her safe because his heart couldn’t bear having anything bad happen to her.
The love that Leo and Natalia share is both heartbreaking and inspiring as they only want what is best for the other. Leo is everything you could want in a man and so much more while the strength and resilience of Natalia will awe you as they take us on a breathtaking journey as they find themselves torn between duty and love. The suspense, angst and love is apparent through both narrators which makes this great story even better. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Heartbreakingly Beautiful
Natalia Mazzone is the principessa for the Mazzone famiglia. She is arranged to be married no matter who she loves or how she feels about it, that is the way of the famiglia. It is heartbreaking and emotional the way she is loved and cherished but is unable to do what she wants or be with who she wants.
Leonardo Messina is a soldato for the famiglia, which is nothing but a foot soldier and considered dispensable. Other than the fact that he is Matteo's best friend, he is a nobody.
I loved Matteo and Nat's sibling love, it was beautiful. I hated the things that happened to bring her to where she is today and I hated seeing her so hurt and seeing the toll her life has taken on her. I wanted to see her happy and in love the way she deserved to be, but unfortunately her husband didn't love her, not like he should. Although the boys were everything for me, the love they have for her and the sweet way they protect her. I was all about that. I loved it.
Nat and Leo's love was so real, it was wonderfully tragic that they couldn't be what they wanted to be. My heart hurt for them. I was so distraught knowing things would never be. I wanted all the love and happiness they deserved. I hated what all they went through.. I can't get too into it due to spoilers, but this book is so heartbreakingly tragic yet beautiful at the same time! I loved Nat and her strength and pure love for her family. I loved seeing Ben and her together, and I was a huge fan of her devotion to everyone in her life. I loved Leo and his delicious self! He was (chef's kiss!) perfection!!

Heartbreak, steam and a HEA ❤️🔥
I preferred Ben and Sierra’s story. This one has a lot of heartbreak and sadness. There are some dark elements especially in the early years. Natalia deserves happiness, she hasn't had it easy. The story is well written and will have you engaged throughout. I still think it deserves 5 🌟
The narrators did a really good job. Dual narration makes all the difference.

Gripping!!
As mafia romances go, Forbidden to Love was simply magnificent. Siobhan Davis is an absolute talent; she captures the very heart of the underground world and the characters existing within it. Mazzone Mafia is an addictive series, and Forbidden to Love is a phenomenal second book. The storyline is rich, edgy, thrilling, suspenseful, action-packed, and unpredictable, wrapped in intrigue, passion, and sensuality. The character development is sophisticated. The best way to describe the MCs, Leo and Natalia, is captivating; the complexity of their personalities, strength, vulnerabilities, and emotions they experienced was wholly authentic and compelling.
Their connection felt natural, intense, and magnetic, driven by smouldering desire, devotion, and passion. It was impossible not to get caught up in the dilemmas, angst, tough choices, and drama of the mafia culture and expectations. I was completely pulled into their journey, getting hit by one unforeseen twist after another, feeling the intensity, fear, anger, rush, and heartbreak. I was thoroughly immersed and invested from start to end.
Flawless performances by Michael Gallagher and Sarah Puckett. I felt and imagined every scene as though I was there, watching it all happen. Gallagher and Puckett are masterful narrators, and it was a pleasure listening to them bringing Davis's words to life. The Forbidden to Love was an incredibly satisfying listen, one I'm highly recommending. It was so worth the listen.

Romantic suspense at its best!
Siobhan Davis is fast becoming one of my have to listen to authors! I fall into each of her books and don't come up for air until I am finished! This one, we meet Natalia. Daughter of a dom, she knows her place, but isn't happy with it. She has hopes and dreams of her own, and entering an arranged, loveless marriage with a monster is not included. There is no way out of the contract though. Leo is her brother's best friend and he is moving up the ranks. He is her true love, even at seventeen she knows it. With mutual feelings though, they both know nothing can come of it. Or can it? Our story is complex, at times brutal, but at the heart has a love story that knows no bounds. Natalia is a strong woman! I love her loyalty to her family and the way she gives up her love to protect him. Her boys are her life, and I as a mom absolutely love and can relate to it. Leo is the one we all strive for. He knows exactly what he wants, and he never gives it up. Years, and lifetimes for him go by, and he is reliable and loyal. Tragedies, family and love. You can't have a better combination for this fantastic mafia romance. I was completely captivated.
There is nothing better than having a narration that matches the caliber of a story. Sarah Puckett and Michael Gallagher pull out all the stops for this one. Puckett always finds the heart of the emotion and as Natalia, she embraces it. Each feeling is strong and real, and we are right there with her. Gallagher, high on my favorites list, takes Leo and worms him into my heart. He has the sound of a man that will stop at nothing to keep his woman happy and safe, and that is exactly who Leo is. Phenomenal performance!
