Summary
Graeme Souness is a Glasgow Rangers icon and a Liverpool legend in the same bracket as Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.
He has racked up getting on for 50 years in and around the world of professional football. The game has been his life and his enduring passion.
Souness has written a perceptive and opinionated autobiography. It chronicles one of the most successful and colourful careers in the history of British football. But it also provides an intriguing assessment of the game which has dominated his existence, drawing extensively on his incredibly rich and varied experiences as a player, manager and pundit.
The result is a shrewd, incisive and hard-hitting memoir, at times tinged with hindsight and regret, which also grapples with many of the major talking points affecting the game today. It is shot through with Souness' trademark tenacity and wisdom and with fantastic anecdotes from his glittering career.
In many ways, Football: My Life, My Passion is the story of the last half century of British football writ large.

Very good but skimps over certain sections
Very interesting views on his career along with football as a whole. Only drawback is that he doesn't go into much detail about certain parts of his career, which takes away from the story a bit.

Very good read!!
Repeats itself a bit and would be better with GS narrating it.
Some great content though!!

Not as good as I’d hoped
Always been a fan of Souness but I found the book a little bland and very much unlike the spiky player and manager that he was.

Not the best book
Alot of the book is about Souness trying to justify himself for his past actions. Tends to waffle about things too much and just only skims on stories. Was expecting more.

Very enjoyable and interesting
A good football book not too many skeletons revealed but if you like football and seeing an ordinary person make it to the top of his profession in England, Scotland and Europe.
Latterly he talks about his career at Sky
To me came a across as a good guy, very ambitious and overcome a heart bypass to become a well liked soccer pundit.
If you love football you will love this.

What a true football story
Great story, some awesome people and teams involved too. Just a shame the narrator wasn't Graeme, thought the telling of the stories felt soulless sadly.
