Summary
Flash Fire is the explosive sequel to The Extraordinaries by USA Today best-selling author T J Klune.
Nick landed himself the superhero boyfriend of his dreams, but with new heroes arriving in Nova City, it's up to Nick and his friends to determine who is virtuous and who is villainous. Which is a lot to handle for a guy who just wants to finish his self-insert bakery AU fanfic.

OMG
Another book another rollercoaster of emotions!! WOW!! Honestly I was afraid the second book wouldn't stand the first one, but holy moly!! The deep feelings this book and this characters awaken in me is otherworldly! The narration it's what wraps it all together forming an invincible concoction! I once more cried, cringed, gasped and laughed out loud!

Extraordinary, truely
If you need a book to fill your heart, this is for you. First off, amazing narration! Secondly, the story is current, heartwarming, captivating and overall just great. I am always hesitant with sequels, but this one took what was great from the first one and made it better.

Such a good book! It was a slower build up, but I really enjoyed it and the ending was amazing!! I’m really looking forward to the 3rd and final book! Love all these characters and what they stand for!

Enjoyable Story
The story and characters are engaging and the narrator has very distinctive voices for each character, always a plus for me.

Uninspired book written following a woke checklist
I have read/listened to more books by TJ Klune than any other author and I consider myself a Klunatic, so I struggled with the idea of giving this rating. But I decided that a honest (as opposed to a fanboy one) rating is the best option as it will help people who now discover TJ Klune find the better books - that they can appreciate better.
In my view this is the first ever boring book that Klune has ever published. Boring and often annoying. Most of it consists of repetitive shallow conversations about how cool and good we are, understanding and accepting.
Almost nothing happens. There is almost no character building and development and what is worse - the distinct and likable characters from the first book are been turned into bland figures spouting general wokeness to fill the pages.
There is an awkward attempt to handle the topic of the image of the police in US that is obviously patched postfactum in 3 or 4 scenes of the book, but the result is mostly confusing.
Also sad to give 4 stars to the performance by Michael Lesley (big fan by the way), but his uneven reading during the first half with lots of random pauses and wrong/confusing rhythm made the experience more unpleasant and annoying than it should have been.

Glad he backtracked on the copaganda
this was clearly entirely written then rejumbled to take out the cop worshiping. it is a necessary change bit poorly done. dont think a third novel is needed, the story isn't held together.
