About this listen
This is a short story prequel to the James Brickman series.
She wanted to reach out and strangle him. She wanted to see his lifeless body laid out on the ground.
Join Brick on his first day as a homicide detective. Of course, someone gets murdered.
A heated love triangle and good times with Mark and Maggie are abound. An intriguing beginning for the thrilling crime mysteries of The Link, Justice for the Guilty, and Blackout Murder.

First
I enjoyed the narration of Jeff Moon, who brings out the action, pace and great plot
Detective James Brickman, first day on the job as a San Diego Detective, is handed a major murder case. Brick ( James Brickman) once had been a police officer in Denver, before moving to San Diego. He finds himself anxious to prove himself to his new partner, Allan Brooks.
This prequel does not disappoint, full of action. We see James settles in with his new partner Allan who gives him plenty of room to use his skills.

Background to series
This is a well written and narrated book which puts 'flesh' onto an enjoyable series. The series can be read/listened to without this and I have listened to it after listening to the series but it didnt matter at all doing it out of order. The narration is just perfect.
I was given a free copy by the author but the review is entirely my own.

Brickman Prequel.
A new job, A new Partner and rookie detective James Brickman finds himself at the centre of a murder investigation. This prequel to what I already know is a great series of stories does not disappoint, full of action as James settles in with his new partner who gives him plenty of room to use his skills. A highly recommended listen whether you have already listened to the next 2 books or not this will have you hooked. Jeff Moons narration if first class as usual and brings all the characters to life.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.
