About this listen

Passion, hope, and forbidden desire....

Holly Jennings wasn’t planning on another trip to Scotland. And she certainly wasn’t planning on a trip down memory lane with the hot Highlander who broke her heart. But she’s never been much of a planner - more like a roll-with-the punches country gal. A good thing, too, because “one last request” may not be the only thing a beloved mentor left her in his will. Before Holly knows it, she’s heading on a mysterious mission to a remote island - and straight into danger.

Dragon shifter Lachlan McKenney likes his life logical and organized - not turned upside down by the lithe, impulsive beauty he’s been trying to forget for years. Especially now that he’s busy guarding a ruthless archenemy who’s plotting to escape an island prison.

But Holly awakens every emotion Lachlan has been trained to resist: passion, hope, and forbidden desire. Apparently, there’s no outrunning fate, just as there’s no shirking duty. Against the odds, Lachlan must keep Holly safe on her mission to carry out a venerable old dragon’s last wishes. At the same time, he must resist temptation, because letting his focus slip could cost Holly her life - and unleash a deadly foe.

Danger lurks over Europe, where a ruthless dragon clan plots to seize power in the grandest, most glamorous cities. The guardians of old have summoned a new generation of shifter heroes to protect the castles, cathedrals, and cobblestoned streets of their ancestral homes - and to seek out the last of the Fire Maidens, women coveted by the dark lords for their royal blood. Those women are absolutely off-limits to the young warriors tasked with protecting them. But destiny, of course, has other ideas....

Anna Lowe’s Fire Maidens: Billionaires & Bodyguards series: a series of sizzling paranormal romances with adult content. Each story is packed with action, emotion, and romance! No cliff-hangers. If you like smoldering-hot shape-shifters, military heroes, and royal intrigue, you'll love these books. Lachlan and Holly

Lachlan and Holly
I loved Lachlan's story! It's different from the earlier books in this series because he and Holly already know each other having met ten years ago. They are both dragon shifters who are now getting a second chance to be together. The last time they were together they had one incredible night together but Lachlan chose his military duties over his love for Holly and broke her heart in the process. Ten years have passed and now they are in each other's company again on a journey around Scotland to fulfil the last request of a deceased friend, Trevor Holly's mentor.

There is so much going on in this story, as you would expect from Anna Lowe if you read or listened to Fire Maidens Ireland you will remember that a dangerous enemy was captured. He was then imprisoned on a private Scottish Island being guarded by a mixed team of shifters which means we can again meet up with characters from previous books.

Whilst Holly and Lachlan strive to fulfil Trevor's final requests they are forced to spend time together which gives them another chance to accept their destiny.

I'm not going to tell you any more because of spoilers, the story is far too go to spoil. If you haven't listened to or read the earlier books you could still enjoy this one but I would recommend that you listen to the books in order to get the most enjoyment from them.

The narration is again performed by the incredibly talented Kelsey Osborne who again gives life to the characters.

Second chance for forbidden love

Fire Maidens: Scotland is the sixth book in the Billionaires and Bodyguards series. This book follows Holly and Lachlan’s story. Years before, Lachlan broke Holly’s heart, and they are thrown back together when Holly is asked to carry out her mentor Trevor’s last request. But things are never that simple. The story has a slower start than others in the series, but I felt that, to tie up the loose ends, the ending was a bit rushed.
This was an enjoyable listen. As always, there is the danger, excitement and steam that’s always present in Anna Lowe’s books, and the narration was excellent.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, and I'm leaving a voluntary review.

Oooh Lachlan.

Lachlan’s story was one I was waiting for, right from the beginning he intrigued me, always there on the periphery. I like the fact the two main characters already knew each other but it took a tragedy to bring them back to into the same room, if I say anymore I will give the story away so take a listen.
As usual fantastic narration from Kelsey Osborne.

A passing, a will, and Return of the b###h.

Wow, OK I think Holly is my favourite female lead character. She's carefree, free spirited and feisty to boot. If you love women with sass who can truly handle themselves, then you're in for a treat with this book. Lachlan is a wonderful character, the stubborn duty driven hard headed male who has a hidden side. Then there's Tony, I love this character, who will be the main character in the next book. The storyline was really exciting, and some loose ends got tied up in this book. The plot had several surprises, and some returning characters. It was good to see those characters again, honestly this series is absolutely fantastic. The narrator did yet another amazing job of delivering an emotional and fun loving book. Anne Lowe really did a fabulous job with this series, travelling to different locations around the world. Each book has such a beautiful setting, and the description is as good as being there yourself. This is a feature I loved most about this series.

Absolutely loved

Book 6 in Billionaire and Bodyguards series Fire Maiden: Scotland by Anna Lowe. Lachlan is a dragon shifter and a previous member of the French foreign legion where he had met previous characters that had met and mated other fire maiden. Holly is a dragon shifter from America that became friends with Scottish royal dragon that died and asks Lachlan and holly to do his final wishes. I love that this book both main characters previously knew each other and have history already but also the main female character is already a shifter and has knowledge of the shifter world, about shifter council and fire maidens. Holly doesn’t know that she is a fire maiden and the story develops beautifully into it especially with her and Lachlan fulfilling her friends wishes. Would love to read more about the emotional unicorn Penelope, hopefully it’ll be soon. Absolutely awesome narration but the massively talented Kelsey Osborne. Like other book in series she doesn’t do much with the very different accents with I’m very thankful for. Instead of doing a awful Scottish accent she keep her own accent and changes her tone for each character which she does a lovely job. Can not wait for next in series.
