About this listen
The everyday world is full of strange and magical creatures, and some of them don’t play nice….
Protecting innocents in the mortal world is not a job to be taken lightly, and life for the paranormal Younglings is spiraling back to Insanityville.
Stranded spirits, violent, rogue vampires and evil demons are bad enough…but now there’s a serial killer on the loose.
The cunning vampire ministry will go to any lengths to secure the half-angel’s blood, but can they find out Eve’s identity? A tenacious vampire tracker is determined to locate her, and he’s closing in.
For some Younglings, love lives are blossoming; for others, love is on the verge of crumbling. And a newcomer, sent to spy on the Younglings, brings an unexpected twist. As normal, trouble follows the Younglings like a menacing cloud, and this time it arrives in the guise of savage combat vampires.
To make matters worse, merciless witch hunters are stalking Millie—they will do anything to see her dead. Can the Younglings protect her?
Monsters don’t always have claws or fangs…sometimes they hide in plain sight—and they’re just as deadly.
Being one of the Younglings can be bad for the health....

Such a great YA series!
I absolutely loved this book even more than the first one, which I didn’t expect.
I love all of the characters I can’t choose a favourite. They all bring something to the group and I love that.
I know this is classed as a YA read but I love it. It’s one of my favourite fantasy series now! It hooks you straight away.
The narration of these books is so good Andrew Bond does a brilliant job. I definitely want to read the physical books at some point too.
I can’t wait for the next book, I really hope it’s not too much longer.

Supernatural plots with high stakes and intriguing characters.
Quinn Carter lived an ordinary life until he discovered he was half demon and the girl he loved, Eve, was half Angel. That was a lot to take in but with the support of his growing group of supernatural friends including half-vampires, werewolves, witches and shifters, Quinn has settled into his new identity. Together they protect innocents in the mortal world from a growing list of paranormal threats. They call themselves the Younglings. They battle dangerous trapped ghosts, malicious vampires and even demons from hell daily but they now have a shockingly violent serial killer on the loose that will take all their unusual skills and considerable abilities to uncover the murderer and stop them.
However, the Younglings have a more sinister threat coming for one of their own. A secret Vampire ministry plans to kidnap Eve as her half-angel blood's magical properties are irresistible to blood drinkers. They have enlisted an expert vampire tracker to retrieve her and he will stop at nothing to complete his mission now that he has her scent. To make matters worse devious witch hunters are stalking their powerful witch friend Millie. Will the Younglings manage to navigate the troubles of love, college life, and their incredibly bizarre jobs as well as becoming young adults with supernatural powers all while protecting two of their own from those who are determined to harm them?
🌟🌟🌟🌟 I liked how the story showed these characters as teenagers/young adults with incredible powers, while still dealing with everyday life and broken hearts just like the mortals around them. The stakes for the group got more dangerous and complicated and I was glad to see that the jeopardy felt more realistic than in book 1. Quinn and Eve's relationship deepened and I loved how they opened up to each other. The story kept me eagerly listening to the very last moment which set up a new twist for book 3. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the story, fell deeper in love with the characters and eagerly await seeing what happens next.

perfection
I really enjoyed The Younglings book 1, so I had to dive back into the story. When I found out there was an audio version I had to try it and boy am I glad I did.
The narrator was perfection to say the least, he dragged me into the story with his voice so naturally. He performed the novel like it was a movie on the big screen and his take on the sarcasm and humourous parts had me scoffing and laughing along - just perfect.
The storyline was full of anticipation and somewhat adventure, I love the group of friends, they are fierce and loyal. I love that amongst the "fight"against their lives and the saving of each other, they do normal teenage stuff.
This novel gives me Buffy vibes and I say that with admiration because I absolutely love Buffy! Also when I say Buffy vibes I don't mean vampire slayer etc, I just mean the supernatural elements and teenagers having to navigate through their lives whilst being different.
The writing in these novels always has me hooked, Helena M Craggs certainly knows how to write a story and have the reader hanging on every word. I love how the first novel builds everything up and this second one continues with that but shows the kids navigating through life as well as the hand outs the supernatural world seems to give them.
I'm really looking forward to book 3

Brilliant second installment!!!
I had never ever listened to an audio book before so I actually went and downloaded book 1 before I started this so I already knew I loved the narrators voice! I actually thought he sounded like Daniel Radcliffe in some parts which helped me concentrate as it was a more familiar voice.
I used the time I spent working from home on the laptop inputing data to listen which was great as I usually always want to read when I have to work so why not both?!
As for the book itself we see the return of our spook crew who are back to helping unsettled souls find their peace at last.
My main boy Quinn is still figuring himself (and girls- mainly Eve) out and on his journey to becoming a man and learning more about his demon side.
This book is such a perfect blend of highschool/teen and supernatural drama.
I love Quinn and Eve fighting to be together against the odds- I mean you'd never put a half demon and a half angel together as it's surely a recipe for disaster. Then again so would a dhampir and a shifter but Leo and Miguel seem to be managing fine 😏.
I loved the last few chapters the best when everyone is together. I won't give any spoilers but it's so magical and brilliant!
Honestly I have loved listening to both of these books and cannot wait for book 3!

Great series
The second book in The Younglings series and it did not disappoint.
I loved getting back to Quinn and his ‘spook crew’, meeting new characters and seeing them fight new evils.
As always the narrator of the audiobook is fabulous and really brings the story to life, I’m ready for book 4 now (I listened to book 3 last year)!
