About this listen
It's time to come home, Finn.
It's been seven years since Daniel Finley left his hometown in Florida for the hustle and bustle of Chicago's city life.
Since then, he's worked hard for his position at the prestigious law firm Leighton & Associates, even when it's caused distance and isolation from his family and friends. But that's all about to change.
On his 30th birthday, he receives the one thing he never dared hope for. Something that was promised to him years earlier - a note. One simple sentence from the man he's never been able to forget.
Six words will forever change the course of their lives.
Brantley Hayes has it all. Or so he thinks. When he first made the decision to take a job down in Florida, his family thought he was crazy. But, after years of living in the quiet beach town, he finally feels a sense of community. He's surrounded himself with friends who are like family, has a job he loves, and owns a spectacular beachfront property that is his sanctuary.
Yet he still feels unfulfilled, as if a piece of the puzzle is missing, and he knows exactly which piece it is. On an impulse, he follows through with a promise he made years earlier. A promise to call home the one he sent away.
Nothing is as simple as it seems.
After years of separation, the former lovers are reunited, but Brantley wasn't expecting to encounter the high walls now guarding Daniel's heart.
Daniel may not be the same person he was when he left, but he knows that the first step to healing is the note in his hand.

Feel the Electricity
Tear jerking romantic reunion with touching well written MCs. Not my fav narrator, whose job was made difficult by the confusing way the story moves backwards and forwards in time frame with little or no punctuated breaks to indicate the change. The strength of the relationship, it's duration over time, their passion and the electricity of the MCs is what enlivens this book and makes it a gem. You truly feel this love will last forever. VERY ENJOYABLE AND SATISFYING

Another hit from Ella
I didn’t know Daniel had his own book, but very pleased he has. It was beautiful and heartfelt and loved the appearance of Logan and Tate, that is always going to be a winner x

Ok book
I hate to admit that this was my least favourite of books by Ella Frank. I didn't like the constant flashbacks throughout the book. It took a few seconds to realise that it was a flashback because there was barely any pause to let you know it wasn't part of the present conversation. I also wasn't that fond of the plan that Finn concocted concerning Brantley. It seemed to be an excuse for the characters to frequently have sex. Even the scene in Chicago appeared out of place and seemed to be merely a way to bring in characters from other books. (Hope that wasn't too much of a spoiler.) Narration was good, however.

Finley
In a tale of a second chance at love, this book manages to pull at all the right heartstrings. It's the right combination of steamy, dramatic, and hilarious. The characters are believable and I also enjoyed the cameo of Logan and Tate from Ella Frank's 'Temptation' series.
Charlie David delivers a heart-rending performance throughout the book. I'm honestly stunned by this man's talented voice. He conveys all the emotion a book like this deserves.
