Summary
I never thought I’d find her.
After eight years in the marines, I’m still looking for the mysterious woman I’ve obsessed over since her first letter. When she shows up in my small town, I’m thrilled.
But when she turns out to be my brother’s best friend--and the girl he’s always loved--I’m caught between the two people who matter to me the most.
I’m a marine, which means honor and duty run deep. Joanna is off-limits. That would be a whole lot easier if she hadn’t already agreed to help run my brother’s fishing guide business for the summer, forcing me to work side-by-side with the woman I’ve fantasized about for years. I try to keep her at a distance, push her away, and man up. But she draws me in without even trying, and I can’t get enough of how she makes me feel. I’m stealing moments with her, and I know it’s wrong. She may not be my brother’s girlfriend, but I know a landmine when I see one.
Author's note: Finding You is a scorching hot interconnected stand-alone small-town romance. It is not a love triangle. Finding You is the first book in the Chikalu Falls series set in the fictional Montana town, Chikalu Falls.

Loved everything about this story!!!
This book! What can I say to fully describe how I feel about this book. I knew from the moment I started reading, I was going to love it. This is a debut novel, how? The writing was impeccable and the story was beautiful! I loved Joanna. Her personality and thoughts kept me entertained and she was so relatable. Lincoln, what can I say, who doesn't love a growly, overprotective marine? Their love story was to die for. I loved how their story started way before they met and how it came to be. I just couldn't keep a smile off my face as I read and the buildup and angst between Joanna and Lincoln was perfect.
And if you loved reading this book or even if you haven't read it yet, trust me you'll love listening to this book even more! It transported me into the story and I just wanted to keep listening. Stephen was the perfect Lincoln and Charlotte was amazing as Joanna. I cannot get over this story and I can't wait to experince Lena's other books in audiobook!

Small Town Romance
28/01/2023
I read the book last year (see original review below) when I was given the opportunity to listen to the audio I jumped at the chance and I’m so grateful, these narrators really brought the characters to life, I felt every emotion, and I fell in love all over again with the characters of Chikalu Falls.

Wow!! What a perfect debut novel 👏🏼
This story had everything. Lincoln has returned home after serving with the Marines, he has scars inside and out but letters he received from a mysterious woman kept him sane and helped him see the beauty and good in the world during his darkest days.
His return home sees him rejoin his brother Finn in helping to run their fishing guide business and to begin his search for the mysterious woman (OMG! I really really hope the author writes a story for Finn! I adored this fun loving character)
Joanna is Finn’s best friend, they’ve known each other since school, the friendly banter clearly shows their strong friendship. Joanna comes across as someone I could drink with, her boyfriend basically dumps her for not being a girlie girl but her passion is in achieving her dream of opening a fishing guide business, this drives her & she’s good at what she does.
When Lincoln and Joanna come together, it’s intense, loving, sensual, so many questions are answered, secrets are revealed, but as Lincoln struggles with his PTSD, will their love be strong enough to survive? Can Lincoln make the steps needed to be the good man that Joanna see’s in him.
Oh My god Lincoln was everything, sweet, alpha and intense! And his feeling of being unworthy broke my heart.
This was an engaging story, with really addictive likeable characters, I’m excited for book 2 which will be Joanna’s sister Honey, and the local bar owner Colin, we saw glimpses of this story and Oh My! This could be explosive in a Honey sort of way.
This is a military romance/small town/brothers best friend romance and I highly recommend this book, for it to be the authors debut novel I must applaud how good it is 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Steamy slowish burn brothers best friend romance
I',ve just revisited Finding You on audio. The narrators tell the story beautifully, capturing Lincoln's vulnerability and Jo's determination. The audiobook is a steamy, smooth and comforting romance to treat yourself to.
Finding you is the debut novel from Lena Hendrix. It is a truly adorable small town brothers best friend romance. It is a well crafted and beautiful debut from Lena. This does not feel like a first novel at all as it is written with an easy flow and good pace and detail.
This is the story of retired marine Lincoln and his bundle of baggage. His lifeline, through service and recovery, are the letters he receives from home from 'Joanna'. She writes as part of a programme to keep the marines spirits up. But she becomes so much more to Lincoln. And on his return he wants to find her.
Lincoln is haunted by the traumas of his service. He is gruff and withdrawn only tempted out to visit his brother from time to time. Jo is an independent and contented fishing guide. She is looking to set down roots but enjoys her life of adventure and travel with her dog. When these two meet their chemistry is off the charts. The lingering longing and repressed desire just oozes from the story. And when they finally give in the flames light up the page. These two are heated.
I loved the premise of the story and the bond formed through her letters and her connection to him via his brother Finn. As with a lot of romance novels I wanted to give the hero a good shake and tell him to communicate. I understand the depth of his desire but I wanted to knock some sense in to him for feeling like be was betraying his brother (just one conversation is all it would have taken 🤦). But what would a good romance novel be without a few stumbling blocks in the couple's way before they set themselves on the right course.
This is a gorgeous story of healing and finding your place in the world with the perfect partner. These two really are made for each other.

—————————————————————
Jo is a strong, capable, outdoorsy woman who doesn’t need to be coddled.
She knows what she wants.
She has Big Dreams!
She also was writing a marine for a few years, and he happened to be her best friends older brother.
Who is home now.
•
Lincoln lives in a secluded part of Chikalu Falls keeping the property of Old man Bailey well tended.
He doesn’t really like keeping company with anyone except his little brother, a few of his close friends, and occasionally, his mom.
The one person he wants to find though? Is Johanna.
The Johanna who wrote to him when he was overseas, and basically kept him sane.
And wouldn’t you know…his brother knows a Jo…but is she HIS Johanna?
•
Please! This was amazing!
The narrators were captivating, the chuckled, and cried, and gasped! It was pure unfettered, serotonin for my ears!
I CANNOT wait for more from Lena!!!

This book!! Wow!! ❤️
THIS BOOK Y’ALL! Oh my gosh - when I eyeball read the Kindle edition I loved it - honestly, it changed me, it changed my perspective on contemporary romance, it changed where I sought out my romance reads (looking at indie authors/new authors), it changed/expanded the tropes I was looking for. The depth in this story and the quality of the writing is next level. And the audio version is… WOW.. it may be even better than the eyeball read (and I don’t often say that). This is next level y’all! These narrators understood the assignment! Give your ears a treat - listen to it, you won’t regret it!
