About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
In this hectic, modern world, the practice of meditation is the greatest way to find peace.
Originally written over 13 years ago, the teachings in this book have transformed the lives of people across the world, and, despite the passing of time, the advice has never been more pertinent. Having lived an extraordinary life spanning across Eastern and Western cultures, Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche, world-renowned meditation master and abbot of the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the UK, Kagyu Samye Ling, shares how simple Buddhist practices can help us all to train our minds so that we can find happiness and achieve our true potential.
He teaches us that our minds are infinite like the sky, which can easily become clouded with stress and emotions, but with meditation, we are able to see beyond the clouds and free our minds of obstacles. By practising this, we can find peace in every moment and live a truly fulfilled life.
With practical steps on breathing, posture, forgiveness, relationships and establishing a meditation routine, this is the definitive guide for beginners and experienced meditators alike to learn from the wisdom of a globally revered meditation master.

Full of practical wisdom
An excellent book as you would expect from this teacher. A captivating and joyful presence in person - I'm thankful that our paths briefly crossed on a couple of occasions in the past. Highly recommended.

A good introduction
The narration is pitch perfect the content is practical and the sentiment wise. I have read and listened to many, many, books on Buddhism from different lineages and traditions. Buddhist philosophy is interesting to study yet difficult to practice. It takes courage and discipline to confront and train the mind. This book encourages and supports self realisation through meditation.

It's ok
It's ok but there's some weird messages about how "the kids" are "smoking grass" and also a touch of other unusual statements, for example, the complete rejection of all information we have about wealth inequality.
One bit talks about how it is actually the homeless who have the best lives because they don't have money to worry about.
Half Buddhist, half wellness boomer.

Enjoyed the narration but the book felt like a lecture
There were lots of “shoulds” and “musts”; I felt like I was being lectured and talked down to. I came here from Gelong Thubten’s stuff which felt very different: full of compassion.
