About this listen
A dead god.
A dying world.
A girl never meant to be sentient.
Siriaa is dying. A poison is spreading throughout the planet and none know how to neutralize it. Finder, working in King Tamblin's castle kitchen most of her life, has never spoken. A child of questionable parentage, Finder is an orphan assigned to perform duties nobody else wants.
While others plan intrigue, murder and invasion to escape the poison's effects, Finder watches all in mute acceptance. Will she be the key to Siriaa's salvation, or will it die about her, without knowing why?

Excellent Book - Average Narration.
What did you like most about Finder?
Connie Suttle is an amazing author, and like her other books this one is very good from start to finish. It is nicely paced and what I call a "proper book" - a fully developed story rather than the part stories that you often find in a series.
Did Shiromi Arserio do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?
The narration was average, not as good as the narrators for Connie's other books. The inflection and cadence wasn't correct. The differentiation of the characters was present (but not great) but it would had been difficult to understand the flow if I had not read the book. There is a lot of parts of the book where the central character is thinking rather than conversing, and this is not clear.
Any additional comments?
The story is excellent, the narration is average. Unlike many audio books, the narration does not enhance the story, and I was very disappointed by the change of author.

Good - intriguing but could have done with a re work
I genuinely enjoyed this book but feel like it could be exceptional with a bit more of a re-work and revision to bring it together more. I felt immersed in the world the author created. Shame they didn’t put the time and effort into having an editor make it really great.
The next in the series isn’t as good as it’s really choppy and disjointed so gave that 3 stars (though still enjoyed it), but I hope the series will improve again.

Worst narration so far on audible.
So monotone it was nearly impossible to follow the story. Will not be buying any more with this narrator.

I have read the all Connie suttle books and looked forward to listening to them.
I listened to Blood destiny series which I enjoyed but not this.
The narrator in this series uses the same voice throughout. At times I have had to rewind because I don't know who's saying what .
Also Quinn sounds so pathetic I feel like offing her myself . I have listened to some fabulous narrators that can change their voices to suit sex age and authenticity of region and/or culture.
TK Klune always has fabulous narrators that are able to transport you to another place. I have listened to Finder Keeper and a couple of chapters of Blackwing but I can no longer bear it as it is ruining the story for me .
