Summary

Keenan

It's been four years since I ran away - from home, my brother, and my maybe father. I created a life free of expectations while pretending I wasn't being hunted by all of the above. I managed to stay under the radar all this time...or so I thought. When big brother shows up and saves my ass, I'm forced to face everything I left behind, including her.

Sheldon

It's been four years since I became another statistic. I made a lot of mistakes when it came to Keenan Masters. The first was loving him at all. He took something from me the night he left, and when I told him I still loved him, he told me he'd always hate me. After that, I learned how to be okay...until he came back. Gone was the boy who always knew how to make me laugh, and in his place was a cold, arrogant monster.

More.... I need more!

I have gone through every book in this series like a lost person in the desert would go through bottles of water!

The start is kinda dark, the sex is raw and well explained, with lots of "scary" hurdles and antics along the way and ending with a beautiful HEA!

I REALLY DESPERATELY WANT MORE!!!

I love that this book goes back to following the original characters because they veered off for a while to their friends and family.

If you don't mind raw honesty, darker than dark history and intensity (including lots of intense sex), plus you enjoy a different type of romance to the usual white Knight and flowers, then this will knock your socks off! I love dark romances and even darker characters with an erotic touch so when I started to listen to this series I was hooked!

I've recently started downloading more from this author and I have to say that I have put them in my list of favourites! So I would be advising any "none-snowflakes" to have a listen. If the first book is too much, then please don't give up, because once love is in the air it gets sweeter..... Still intense but definitely much more loving between the characters.

I just hope and pray that this isn't the end of the story and I have more to sink my teeth into.... Or would that be my ears??? Hmmmm.... Anyway, I have fallen in love and maybe have a new obsession.

Enjoy xx

Disappointing

I normally love dark, twisted romances with a major alphahole as the mmc. But this one didn’t do it for me. Such a shame.
I didn’t like the characters, didn’t quite get the explanations and justification behind many dumb a$s decisions and actions. The story goes back and forth between when they were teens and the now, so we get the info slowly. Still, even at the with the full picture, much of it doesn’t make sense to me.
Narration was excellent. And it’s park of audible plus catalogue.

This is a hard listen

Having enjoyed the first two books in the series and rolled into the third with high expectations, only to be disappointed.

Whilst I loved Sheldon in the previous books I wasn’t sure about Keenan, but I was intrigued as to where this story would go.

Keenan is dreadful in this book. He’s sadistic, cruel and abusive. Whilst Kieron was cruel and somewhat sadistic it was more palatable given you knew his back ground and what made him the way he was. Even he wasn’t as bad as Keenan.

Keenan is arrogant, entitled and weak. His upbringing wasn’t nearly as bad as Kieron’s and although I accept he’s a little broken the way he behaves in this book crosses too many lines. The author marched him straight upto the line, and marched him right across!

Spoilers:

Sheldon is grieving because of the absence of her child. Keenan doesn’t seem to care and is more intent on punishing her brutally for goodness knows what, given it was Keenan who cheated and Keenen who left with no forwarding address. Then having got their daughter back he takes Sheldon and imprisons her in order to “punish” her some more, for apparently lying to him, and leaves his daughter who has just gone through a very harrowing experience, and suffers from a medical condition, with someone she doesn’t know, thus separating mother and daughter yet again ; at the very least he could have left the daughter with Kieron and Lake and Dash who she knows. He’s physically and emotionally abusive, and literally tortures Sheldon.

For me there is no coming back from this and I only finished the book because it’s part of a series and I want to move onto the other stories.

The backstory in this is good, with great suspense and drams, so at least that’s something.

Yet again both narrators do a fantastic job.

Real shame that the author chose to make Keenan so irredeemable though!

the love interest was gross

keenan cheated for years then left town and changed his name. one returned he blamed and abused the love interest. He was abusive infront of the kid and left the child in a random house with strangers after they were just kidnapped. I like morally grey characters but he was just gross.

MMC was a big fat NOPE..

I am all for characters having a colourful background and working through their demons. However the MMC was just abusive, selfish and entitled. The FMC could have had more of a backbone. Story had so much potential but I wasn’t sold on the redemption arc of MMC. It seemed like I was being forced to like him and overlook his horrible behaviour. NO!!! NO!!! NO!!!!
