Summary
Diese Erzählung von der Schokoladenfabrik Pelzmann und Kompanie ist ein charakteristischer Raabe - wechselnd vom heiter-idyllischen Genre zu tiefer Depression, bis sich am Schluss alles doch zum Guten fügt. Dem Titel nach erwartet man vordergründig Auseinandersetzungen zwischen den charakterlich grundverschiedenen Brüdern Fabian und Sebastian. Erst im Laufe der Erzählung - bittersüß nennt Raabe sie selbst an einer Stelle - wird deutlich, was der Hörer schon bald dunkel ahnt: dass ein lange zurückliegendes, aus Verzweiflung begangenes Verbrechen das Verhältnis der Pelzmanns zueinander und ihre Geschichte geprägt hat.
